Can you use the Crayola or Prismacolor or pure color pencils

To color on tumbled tiles and have them be waterproof? Can you blend with the gamsol on them?
I really don't like the idea of using a sealer on them, so right now I just use Staz-On and Sharpies. Would like a softer look if possible!

Has anyone tried this?

I know!! Pick me!! Okay, just being silly this morning. I'm dreadfully bored at work today.

You can use any of them to color tumbled tiles, just make sure you seal them. AND despite what others will say, I've used seal tiles successfully as coasters. No pooling issues at all.

I haven't tried blending with the mineral spirits, but I do know you can use them or even a soft pastel pencil to color tiles. Go check out my gallery, you'll see a bunch I've done with pencils.

Hmmmm, OK so if I use those I DO have to seal them?? Was trying to avoid that step.
I was thinking that since those pencils are not watercolor, they would not bleed.

I've just aired on the side of caution and put a light coat on mine. I could try it tonight and see what happens. I have a ruined tile I experiment on. You might be okay but like I said, I'm over cautious, even with tiles that just sit and look pretty, I spray them with a UV resistant coat of finish.
