I know, this is a silly question. But I am not sure what it means to mat 2 times? Thanks. Ellie.
Not silly, people have different names for things. What some people call mats, I call layers. You mount your image on a slightly larger piece of cardstock in a different colour (often called a mat) and then do it again on an even larger piece (your 2nd mat). Hope this helps.
Thanks Helen for your quick answer. The reason why I am unsure is because I signed up for a swap and its saying to mat 2 times. Can you tell me if this card is considered matted 2 times? Its still pending right now, but maybe buy the time you look at it its ok to view. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Ellibelle - just an fyi, but as of the last 4 weekends, Sundays are "no upload" days. They try to give Beate & Jenn a BIT of a break (they approve everything that gets posted). So you'll probable get your card approved tomorrow morning - at that time you can bump this thread.
OR, you can attach it as a .jpg format right in the thread. That might be the quickest way to get an answer. Good Luck.

Sorry, I didn't realize that. But thanks for letting me know. If anyone can please look at this card and let me know if its considered matted 2 times? I'm making it for a swap and I don't want to mess it up. Thank you very much. Ellie. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Great card, but I would say that was only matted once. If my interpretation of "matted 2 times" is correct, you would need another mat behind the red one. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's how I understand it.
Thank you, Helen. I just wasn't sure if the always artichoke is considered a mat as well. Please if anyone else reads this, what do you think? ( I almost have my cards all done, and I would hate to start over again, but unfortunately I didn't think about asking the question before I started making them  ) Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Well I sincerely hope I'm wrong - it would be so disheartening for you. Please, somebody, help us out here? Is Ellibelle's card matted twice or not?
My opinion would say, yes, it is. Because you have the white layered onto the red, and then the artichoke is layered onto the brown card. So I would say yes.
P.S. I LOVE your card!! Wish I were on the receiving end of this one!!

It's a very cute card! I don't really know what "mat twice" means, either. You certainly have more than one LAYER in my opnion. I think it's fine the way it is.
Could you ask the swap hostess to take a look at it?
Thank you all!! Maybe I'll just go ahead and send the cards as they are. Since I'm almost done with them. And hopefully it just means to use more than 1 layer not neccessarily on the image itself. So I hope I don't brake the swap rules!
