Default Help, I've been looking at this empty paint can for hours!

I'm steping out of side of my "card zone". I bought 4 paint cans today and have been looking at them for hours. I pick them up, make some measurements and then put them back down. Any suggestions for a newbieee.

Thanks

I can't help at all. I did the same thing. I did get a little further though. I used the sassy 12x12 with the circles on it. I was doing a baby one and thought that papered reminded me of bubbles. I didn't get any further. I was going to put bath stuff in it.

Yes. Put those measurements down on some scratch paper and cut away. Put what you've cut back on the paint can to see if your measuring was correct. If so, transfer to cardstock and start stamping. If not make adjustments until it fits.

For stamping inspiration of these go to the gallery and CASE your first one. If you don't have the exact stamp set and ink, that's OK, just get something that's close.

STOP BEING FRIGHTENED! If you don't try you won't learn!

where do you get empty paint cans anyway? and what do you all put in them? I've seen a few in the gallery, but I guess I just don't get it.

i got my empty paint cans at menards, and home depot has them too.
I'm from wisconsin, so i plan on putting things from wisconsin in one and sending it to my kids grandparents who live in massachusetts. They've only been here one time, so i thought it would be neat.

The paint can I made is for my son's male teacher. My son has picked out a couple of pencils and some stickers to put in it. I have bought some candies and will be making fudge to put in it. Its just a different idea vs. a gift basket. This will be a gift can!!

Okay, I'm finally going to ask, but I feel dumb. Marcia's instructions say to make a slit 3" down...three inches down from where? And I really don't get the next step either. Sigh. Could anyone spell it out for me better?

Thank you!

She means to cut a slit from the top of the paper down about 3 inches long.
