Help the Gallery with Index Cards: UPDATED 3/26/07
Hello again. It's time for another push for index cards for all the sets in the gallery that don't have one yet... we only have 76 sets in the whole gallery (give or take one or two) that don't have index cards!!! I am so impressed with the amount of work accomplished so far. We just need a few more sets to make the gallery complete.
So, what is an index card you may ask? Well, it is a card made from all of the images of a given stamp set--like this one:
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=53117&cat=749
Stampin' Up!'s copyright rules do not allow us to just photo copy the stickers or just stamp the images on a piece of paper and post those at the front of each gallery. Instead, the goal is to make the stamped images look like a card--but only displaying the images from that set.
What can you do to help? Look over the list below and decide if you have any of the stamp sets. If you do, post to this thread which stamp sets you'd be willing to make an index card. I will post to this thread to confirm that you have been assigned the sets you want to do (to make sure there are no duplicate efforts by all of you). Go and make your best card front with each image in your stamp sets and upload the images to the special collection "Index Gallery". Then post to the sticky index thread at the top of the General Stamping Talk forum to tell the mods that you have uploaded index cards for your stamp sets (please list them). The mods will then move the card to the appropriate set gallery and make it so that it is no longer in your personal gallery. Your artwork will then be forever more the first image in that set's gallery--a little immoratality and a little personal pride knowing you have helped SCS!
The first list is a list of those stamp sets that still need index card volunteers. The second list is a list of sets with volunteers (listed by the set) but the index cards have not been done yet. Please let me know if you can't do the set you originally volunteered for, and we'll get someone else to help. I know things come up, and we all bite off a little more than we can chew at times, so if you have to "un-volunteer" from a set, it's OK!
Sets that need index card volunteers:

My 2¢
Might I add a word to your request? When making an index card, please just stamp the stamp. Don't add extra frills like patterned paper or ribbons. Don't color the images. Viewers need to see exactly what they will get if they were to buy the stamp set.
Sorry, I don't have any of the sets you need. I'll send the list along to my demo who does.

Sarah...(SeattleStamper) Thank you for offering to help with doodle alpha, grape vine and sweetpea! I will check & see if there is a doodle number gallery--if there is, then yes, an index card would be lovely.
I am grateful to all of you who have offered to help, but don't have any of the sets listed left. I myself am in the same situation--I have lots & lots of stamp sets, but I have done all the index cards I can with what I got! That's why I am appealing to all of you for help. Thanks for reading along with this thread and all your hard work so far.
Happy stamping to all!

Marie--I have you down for Curly Christmas--thank you!
Sarah (csibru) I have you down for Mod Alpha & Stamp of Authenticity. I will get back to you in a few days about the spot on wheel, as I try to bump this thread to the top and see if those who have signed up previously for stamps sets get in touch with me. Thank you for offering to help!
Maryjo2--Likewise, I will get back to you about Angler in a couple of days, if that is ok with you. Thanks for offering to help as well.

Hi Kelle....
Sorry I haven't done Sew Sweet wheel yet.
I still can.... I just ran into a 'bunch of stuff' recently but it's slowly getting under control.
I'll try by the end of the week to get it finished,
Rubber Hugs,
Renee

StampOwl--please do a country apple index--the country sets need some love!
Diane (ldyglfr62)--thank you for letting me know you can still help! Just post to the thread at the top of general stamping forum when you post your index cards! (I got around using the plural of index--whew!)
Al_silver2--please do an index card for such a tweet--we still need that set!
Renee (happystamper05)--I appreciate you letting me know that you can still do the sew sweet wheel--there is no real rush on getting an index done!
You all are great to help!

Kelle, I am such a nerd, I don't have stamp of authenticity. It's genuine articles that I have. I've uploaded the mod alpha though.
Sorry, Sarah

I sometimes can be really a dope, but I will ask anyway. I am a little confused on the rules....do we make it look like a card and color it or do we just stamp the images on the card....without coloring it?

No, Joelyn, you are right to be a little confused. Back in the beginning of this project, I was told by the great SCS powers that just stamping the images on a single sheet of paper was against the SU! copyright rules (or close enough to being against the SU! copyright rules that we didn't want to cause any issues). So the idea of the index card is to stamp the images in some fashion that makes the overall compilation of images look like a card--maybe framing each image in different colored paper, etc. I believe Jenn's exact words to me were "make it real PURTY" and since the gallery is her baby, I have tried to follow her directions!
Because it takes SO many people to do this project, since one person can't possibly own all SU stamps sets (try though we might...) there have been a variety of index cards uploaded that have been colored in, and some that have just been stamped in different colors on one piece of paper. The index card's main purpose is a reference--to show what stamped images come from a particular stamp set.
So...does that answer your question at all? Clear as mud?!? Bottom line, do what you feel is best for the set you are helping with!
PM me if you want!
