Default I am looking for ideas for a retirement card for a coworker. I am sad she's retiring

She is retiring as a cook after 26 years in the school district. I have worked with her for the last 2 years and she is a wonderful lady.

I don't really have "retirement" stamp sets so I am looking for ideas.

And I need to come up with a gift idea. I am thinking some good loose tea and a strainer. She loves her tea and now that she's retired she has time.

When I need a specific card for an event that I don't have a stamp for, I usually google quotes, like "retirement quotes" and you will find lots of ideas for a saying to go on the card. Fontgarden.com is a good one, if I remember. Then you can type the quote on your computer and format it with a font you like - then print it on whatever paper you like and it will be just as good in a pinch! Add in some other stamps, depending on what quote you pick. Good luck!

Sunnysnowflake,

You could do an "I will miss you" card with maybe a beautiful flower on it. Something elegant. Many times, I don't have a stamp that says what I want, so I type something on my computer and print it off on cardstock. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I need to have hubby look at our printer because it isn't printing on colored paper or cardstock which really disapoints me.
I will get working on something. Thanks!

I know someone that is retiring soon too and I plan on using the following quote because she loves coffee:

Retirement: The World's Longest Coffee Break

How about a card with the sentiment:

It's Tea Time! Congratulations on your retirement.

I did one for my boss who just left using Happy Everything. It said Happy for You on the front, and inside I printed, But sad for us that you are leaving.

I love the tea idea - you could also get her a fancy teacup. Some specialty coffee shops have gorgeous ones. (I'm a tea lover and love my fancy teacups!)

I recently made a retirement card for a dear co-worker who retired. I did a flower theme with an "enjoy your retirement card." Here's a link to it: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

The tea idea is a neat one! To add to what babsnelson said, you could also get a "tea for one" set, which has the cup and mini teapot together. If you go to a health food store, there are *tons* of varieties of tea to choose from.

The retirement message I've recently been printing on my cards is this:

Welcome to the 7-day Weekend Club! Congratualtions on your retirement.

Do you have the new Voila set? Given that she was a cook, I can see using the chef for something fun - perhaps a tea set on the platter?

Is she retiring around Halloween? You could use a Halloween set and stamp "BOO" on the front. Then on the inside you could stamp "HOO...I'm so sad you're leaving!"

Add a you'll be missed or something along those lines.
