Has Bella Shipping Increased?

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I realize there have been threads in the past about the shipping & handling fees that online stamp companies charge and I understand that the companies have to recover the costs of buying shipping materials, etc. However, I just went to place an order for ONE un-mounted bella stamp (a $6.27 cdn stamp) and the regular shipping was quoted at $13.39. In the past when I've ordered bellas I received about 5 or so stamps in a small bubble envelope that cost $1.95 in postage to mail. A $7.12 handling fee on a $6.27 stamp seems very steep to me.

Have the bella shipping & handling fees gone up recently?

jailbirdstamper 05-26-2007 09:45 AM

I think the bellamadam is just giving choices now for shipping rates.

cmayk 05-26-2007 09:46 AM

but the cheapest option was still $13.39, which is a lot higher than when I ordered before.

cmayk 05-26-2007 09:49 AM

I made a mistake in my original calculation... I should have said:

An $11.44 handling fee on a $6.27 stamp seems very steep to me. (if she's charging $13.39 shipping & handling and the postage is only costing $1.95... then it works out to an $11.44 handling fee, right?)

Dragonbutterfly 05-26-2007 09:54 AM

I just placed another order for Bellas. The last time I ordered I did pay less BUT the postage prices went up in the US so I figured on the increase. My shipping wasn't as expensive as I thought it was going to be.

llevans 05-26-2007 09:59 AM

E-mail Em, maybe she doesn't have all the bugs worked out yet. You will get a quick response!

If you go back to the site and log in you can look at your order in detail. It should give you the prices for your Bellas and the price for your shipping, then you won't have any surprises

to mail a single bella across canada would cost no more than $5-to charge upwards of $14 for a single stamp is robbery and to send it express for $28 is even worse imo

canadian shipping or not, if she's shipping FROM canada, to a canadian address the shipping cost for one bella should be around a buck or two.

That doesn't seem right that shipping to the USA is way cheaper than shipping within Canada. Strange.

i think she has gone to a flat rate.

my mind says order more to defray the cost!

but that is just me!

Yep my 1st order was like $26 and just like an hour ago I spent $36 something...LOL I can't seem to get enough of them! I think I may just have to buy a few a month...ROFL

Dragonbutterfly 05-26-2007 10:49 AM

Dang it! No edit...hit the enter button...what a putz. Anyway, what I WAS going to say was: I sent Em an email asking about the shipping...Oh I just thought of something!!!! When you placed your order did you switch from US currency to Canadian Currency....up next to the 'shopping cart' area there is a currency area....wonder if that makes a difference or not...Just a thought

marcenepc 05-26-2007 11:06 AM

My order was in US currency and I live in Florida. The site defaults to US$ and you have the option to change it to Canadian.

I think you shoud send them an email ([email protected]), notate your order number and I am sure they will respond to any questions regarding the shipping on your order.

parrothead 05-26-2007 11:10 AM

yep...just went back and logged in......guess i should've looked more closely last week when i ordered...i just paid 18.24 to ship one bella to Ga.........and I was the complaining last week about paying 8.99 for shipping.......I won't be doing that anymore...they are cute, but not THAT cute.

housefan 05-26-2007 11:12 AM

Some companies are hitting you hard another way. By raising product prices you will also end up with higher shipping costs. This is true for any company that figures your shipping cost based on the total of your order. These companies are getting you two ways. I am not going to complain about those who just raised shipping alone.

Well I'm not gonna pay 18.24 for a 6.00 stamp that costs pennies to manufacture

OMG! Did you request a specific kind of expedited shipping or something? I just ordered again from Em and picked the 2 week shipping (instead of the 2-4 week) and only paid $6 for that. How fast did you get them?

I didn't pick any shipping..it didn't give me an option....which i thought was weird.....it just processed as soon as I gave my cc # and said thank you for your order....it never even totaled in shipping...my email receipt even says thanks for your order...6.29 was the toatal...then I just logged on after seeing this thread and my total was 24.56...for one stamp...I ordered last week...like I said thaey are cute, but not cute enough for 25.00 for one clear stamp!

I would DEFINITELY Email Em about that! Send her a copy of your order and show the shipping to her, I'm SURE that has to be a mistake. She is really good about emailing back if you have any questions (even the dumb ones I asked her with my 1st order..LOL) maybe she doesn't even know there was that big of a mistake.

they're not clear.. they're rubber

NYstamper 05-26-2007 11:32 AM

I think tha they cost more than "pennies" to make. But, back to the main topic.
I just checked on the website.
Small packet, ground 2-4 weeks- $4.85
Small packet, air up to 2 weeks $6.20
Expedited US Com. $14.67
Xpressport USA $20.48
So if you paid $16 for shipping, etc, I would definately email and check. I also looked at my last order. It was only $5.21, to a $40+ order. hth

MsMoxie58 05-26-2007 11:32 AM

Parrothead -- your last post referred to a Bella as a clear stamp -- they are UM rubber.

Actually I had someone from DuPont tell me a year or so ago that's what the cost is to manufacture a rubber stamp. So, I was going on what I was told. My shipping was 18.27...Hope I get it on Monday for that price.Winebella must be flying first class.

Gee, it sounds like something is wrong - she just installed something new for shipping per her blog. Maybe it's not working right? Seems to me, the best thing to do is to e-mail Em at [email protected] and see if there is an issue. She usually responds pretty quick.

Good - I'm sure you will get it resolved soon. When you receive Wineabella, please upload some cards! I received her today and I'm always looking for new ideas!:D
