Default Texas Art and Stamp Convention

Good morning!

Has anyone been to the Texas Art and Stamp Convention in Grapevine? I am a member of a wonderful craft group in Little Rock, Arkansas ... the ART_YA_YAs and we are planning on attending.

Just hoping to get some feedback from anyone that might have attended in the past or is planning on attending at the end July.

Thanks!

Sounds interesting. Do you have a website address for more info?

TIA,
Mimi

Yes, I have been. Went for the 1st time in January 2004. They hold this twice a year and the August show is a little smaller than the Jan. show I was told. I had a good time. This free demos were a little over my head with the techniques -- they did stamping on clothing and furniture, but beautiful to see. Grapevine is sandwiched between Dallas & Ft. Worth, but is not very big. They have this at their local convention center. There was one good size room with vendors (about this size of 2 school gyms). They were from all over. They also had a couple of small meeting room that had some vendors and the hallways. I was able to see everything in 1 day, but felt rushed. Better to take your time and allow for everything. Most vendors were doing lots of demos and offered their stamps mounted and unmounted. I came away overwhelmed, but inspired and am planning to go again in August.

Scraphorse: Thanks for the feedback. Definitely sounds like it will be worth the trip. Do you know if one of the vendors was The Creative Block? They are one of my favorites.

Thanks.

I looked at my "program" and vendor list they passed out as you go in. I didn't see the Creative Block listed, but I know some of the vendors are different in August. Also watch the stamp mags as time gets closer, they usually have discount coupons.

Thanks for the great info scraphorse!! I'm writing this one on my calendar! Grapevine's "Old Town" area is a great shopping street if you like antique stores & consignment craft stores!
