Has anyone ever made a nice card...
...with dark blue/navy blue? Just started wondering that as I received my first ever SU! cardstock packets and saw the dark blue ones in the rich regals. I feel that the dark blue cards always look a bit dowdy, don't they? Please, inspire me and show some great dark blue cards!! I might have to challenge myself in this one, too, and try make a couple of gorgeous cards.

I like night of navy, certainly celery, and tempting turqoise as a color combination. My SU! demo sent me a thank you with this combination...and it was gorgeous!

Here's a couple of Christmas cards I made...
Christmas Cardinal...this one has Print pattern on the navy in navy, but you can't see it too well.
Musical Score
I have 5 or 6 others in my gallery where navy is used for the layers.

Why not go to the color challenges and find some that use navy, and then look at those galleries - I bet you'll see a million different ways to use it!
(I'm at work or I'd look and tell you some of the challenge numbers )

I love Navy, but I do tend to use it for Christmas and winter cards. Here' a card I made last year -- super simple, one layer of night of navy and white embossing powder: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=86528

thank you so much for showing me your lovely cards!! They are beautiful.
I think that probably navy just isn't my colour.. maybe it is because my mom forced me to buy a navy coat once (when I was younger of course) and I absolutely hated it *LOL*.

I love navy. It was my first ink pad after black that I bought. Navy and bright orange look great together. I don't have a gallery, but I have used that combo numerous times since I have a really hard time using orange.

I don't have cards to add at the moment, but the OP made me chuckle because I think of Night of Navy as my "go to" color - it works with everything and always looks good.

I also like Navy. Not a color I always choose, but I like red, navy, and kraft together.

Look in my gallery at red lighthouse, lighthouse close-up and fall friend. They all use dark blue cardstock. I think the trick is to pair it with one or two other colors. Hope this helps.

This was my Christmas 2006 card that I cased from Jeanne S.
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=83335
Although it's more of a "cute" card than an elegant one.

I agree, a totally underrated color. It is perfect for masculine or preppy cards. Here's one of mine: Happy B'day

oh ladies, you make gorgeous, gorgeous cards!! I do seem to like navy put through cuttlebug. I think it gives more life to the colour. I am definitely going to challenge myself to make a nice card with navy.

I've used Night of Navy with the lighter blues (Bordering Blue or Brocade BLue or Bashful Blue) and also used Night of Navy with Pink Passion and Pixie Pink ! It really pops. And I added silver embossing. It was gorgeous.

I made this one a couple of years ago. Doesn't seem "dowdy" to me!
