Arrow Hammermill 110 lb. white card stock

Has anyone used the Hammermill 110# white card stock? I usually use Georgia-Pacific white card stock but ran out and Wal*Mart was all sold out, so I bought the Hammermill at Staples (and paid 2x as much as the GP).

Before I open the pack, I'd like to hear opinions of how the Hammermill compares to others ... be it SU! or GP.

Thanks!

HI,

This is just my opinion.... I don't like it! I am like you... LOVE the stuff at WalMart. I picked up some at Office Depot or Staples (I forget which) and it is not as "solid" as the WM stuff. BUT... here's the BAD part. I bought a new ream at WM, of the good stuff, and it was DIFFERENT!! I hope it was just that ream, or a batch, because it's more like the Staples stuff! Oh no!! I use my Staples stuff for layering and things like that, but not for the actual card. It's a bummer. Let me know what you think though!

Any other opinions on this paper?

I still haven't opened it, as I'm afraid I won't like it then will be stuck with 250 sheets of paper that I spent $11 on.

I only use GP from Wal Mart for testing colors or creating 3D diagrams/patterns, and as a buffer/liner inside the envelops of my cards that have embellishments, like brads, etc. to protect them from the USPS machinery.

I've used Hammermill, too, for the same thing, I think, from Wal Mart, but I can't remember the price or weight. I don't recall it being 2x as expensive as the GP, tho . . . So, mebbe what I got was different from what you got at Staples???

Are you looking to use it for the above? Or, for a base card/layering? or for focal images?

For focal images, I prefer SU!'s Whisper White.

If you keep it, I'd be curious to know the results.

I love using the Hammermill paper. It's the perfect weight and color. The GP always seems to be more of a yellow-white. Maybe that was the batch I got. I can go through 1 big pack of the Hammermill in about a month.

I don't like the Hammermill either...I bought one pack and couldnt get through it quick enough so I could get more of the GP at Walmart...funny thing is...there is a GP plant less than a mile from me...no store though...wouldn't that be great?!!!
