Question H20's or Prismacolors?

What do you have? H20's or Prismacolors? What do you like best and why?

I had a HUGE garage sale last weekend and have money burning a hole in my pocket. I can't decide if I need the H20's or the prismacolors. Can you help sway me one way or the other?

TIA, Carol.

I have H2O's & love them! They are fun & there are sooooooo many pretty colors to choose from. I buy the mini-pots because I know they will last a long time - you don't need a ton of the color to get the effect you want.

I really want to try Prismas too - I see so many beautiful cards made with them.

Have fun spending your 'hot cash'!

I have both but honestly, never touch my H20s and always use my Prismacolors.

I LOVE the Gold H2Os. It adds the neatest effects to your images. They add glitz and sparkle. I think the prismas are more for coloring and shading. If you use them with a blending medium they provide nice smooth shaded images!

I have both and use 'em about the same. Love the H2Os. Like previous post, the mini jars will last you forever. The colors are so bright and sparkly. Love that Cinnamon Red! Great Santa color.

I have both and love both! You need them for different things, prismacolors work for clothes and cars and such and h2os work for nature more, so flowers and leaves.

You guys are not making this an easy choice!! But with the Michaels coupon it does increase my posibilities. When you use the prismacolors, do you just let your card shine as such or do you add some sort of glitter or sparkle? My feeling was that you get it all with the H20's unless I am mistaken?

Oh, and Eileen and Stephanie, my youngest is always asking me to pick my favorite amoung my three kids and I always tell her it's our dog Bentley just to get off the hook. He does'nt talk back or leave his stuff laying around.

I have both and I love both! But I do use my Prismacolors much more than the H2O's.

I think it depends on your style too. I find that with the H2O's I get a much more solid uniform look. But the prismacolors allow me to mix and blend the colors to get the exact shade I want. They are really 2 very different products and it's like comparing apples to oranges.

Like MamaK said, if you can get both, do it! LOL

The other suggestion would be to get just the Oyster H2O. That way you can add just a bit of sparkle to anything It's almost colorless.

Hmmm ... can anyone share some good examples of both? I don't have either yet myself and would love seeing some samples showing the differences or that highlight the strong points.

I keep wanting to buy the H2O's. I become mesmerized by all the different colours and end up so torn as to which colours I should get that I end up walking out with nothing (how sad is that?!!). I'm not sure the store I usually go to has the Prismacolors ... but maybe I'm to mesmerized by the H2O's to notice.

Default H20's versus Prismacolors

I love both and use both. I'am a sparkley kind of gal so I like H20's. Some Michael's sell prisma colors individually so maybe buy a few of your favorite colors. Using prisma colors is like getting to color as an adult. I like using Gamsol or other oderless stuff. It makes my 1st grade coloring look like high school or better work. H20's can also be bought individually so buy a couple or a small set and play. They are like painting with sparkley colors as an adult. I wouldn't want to be
without either one. This is SilverDragoness mother writing this. I guess if I didn't know what I liked of the two I would buy a small set of each and try both or if available buy individuals of each product to see what I liked best.

Default Samples of H20's and Prisma

I don't think samples on line will really show what both will do. In my opinion. Silverdragoness made a lovely card for her Grandmother for Mother's day. Her Mommy writing this with the floral background stamp from a card she cased here in the gallery. I know it took her hours but it is so nice it would easily be frameable. Maybe when Grandma needs another gift thats what will do is offer to frame it.

H2O's - they sparkle and shine and catch the light. Also I am not very big on staying within the lines - I like washes and layers of colors.

If you get Prismacolors - be sure to get yourself a little bottle of Gamsol and study PrincessInk's gallery. Her work with primacolors/blending with gamsol is beautiful.

I have the 120 box of prismacolors and REALLY love using them with the gamsol. It is fun, easy and the effect is awesome. I just recently bought a package of 6 H2O's and haven't played with them much yet but looking forward to it. With my experience so far I vote for the pencils. Let us know what you decide....
