I realize you are thinking what's difficult about stamping on ribbon. I have seen some ribbon with like sentiments--love, adore, cherish, etc. made by companies and sold for more than I wish to pay when I have stamps I could use to make them.
would you use a regular ink pad or a staz-on pad or which would you use? I realize that like on satin (would that work) you might use staz-on or grosgrain could probably handle a regular ink. I would use them on ribbon for cards, gifts, etc. not to put on something that would be washed (if you were wondering). thanks in advance.
I, too, have questions about stamping on ribbon...when I have tried to do it (on satin ribbon) the lettering bleeds. As I recall, I tried several kinds of ink and didn't see much difference in the results. It would be so fun to be able to have words and phrases on ribbon look just like the expensive stuff you buy.
Please, somebody tell us how to do this with great results
I've created some cards that look like the ribbon is stamped on (I promise to post the cards later) but I actually stamped on the cs and put the organdy ribbon over it. It works really well with light colored organdy ribbon and dark ink. Good luck.
It is also very easy to run the ribbon through your printer. It really adds a lot to a scrapbook page to have the journaling and your ribbon sentiments match. All you have to do is first print what you want onto paper, tape the ribbon over the words on the paper (with removable adhesive), and run it back through your printer. Works like a charm!

Get out!
You can run ribbon through an ink jet?! No way!
How would you keep the print where you want it? Wouldn't it jam up and run off the ribbon?
