Default Heat Set Question

I am planning on making some onesies for my new niece. I bought craft ink and I read that people have been heat setting them in the dryer or with and iron. If you put them in the dryer wouldn't the ink get everywhere? Or if you heat set with an iron do you do it directly on the onesie or do you put something in between the iron and the fabric? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Heat set with an iron - place a sheet cut from a brown paper back between the iron and the garment - no mess on the iron this way!
If you do get a gunky iron, try this tip. Heat iron and iron over sheets of waxed paper and then plain typing/printer paper.

You let the ink DRY first - THEN you heat set in the dryer.

I use a sheet of computer paper over the stamping and then a piece of plain fabric over that. I do this any time I need to heat set anything on fabric.
