Let me see if I can help....some Stampin' Up! demonstrators are categorized as hobby demos because they basically make their quarterly minimums on their own. They may have some customers, but they don't really do the home shows or classes like other demos do. The other demos, doing the home shows, classes and with more than a couple of customers are categorized as business demos. Make sense?
There is a demo locater on the SU site (stampinup.com) if you want to find a demonstrator in your area. The benefits for customers start with a $150 show, you receive a level one hostess set and $15 in merchandise with this. The website also has the new catalog, including the hostess benefits on it.
I am a demonstrator who is in between a hobby demo and a business demo. I have a few dedicated customers and I do scrapbook classes twice a month. I've been a demo for about 5 years.
Hope this answered some of your questions, feel free to pm me if you have any more!
