Hi all,
Have you found a glue that doesn't dry in the tip? Every time I use my Nuvo or Art Glitter glue I have to unclog the tip with a pin, water, and a lot of frustration. This shouldn't be so hard!
Hi all,

It can be frustrating!
One thing that helps me with the Art Glitter glue is to tap the bottom of the bottle against your desk so any extra glue goes back down into the bottle. If you don't do that, too much stays in the tip area. Then insert the pin to just keep air from entering the bottle. Hope this helps you, too.
One thing, I live in a warm, humid area so it may be that this just works for me...? But I've read this online a few times, so I'm hopeful it's true for other environments, as well.
Thank you all! This is so helpful. So far storing the bottles upside down has done the trick. (Who knew?! Obviously not me.) I'll also try the pin in the art glitter bottle. I thought I was supposed to use the pin in the nozzle after cleaning it. Good grief! :-)
I store my bottle upside down too - it's in a little cup that has a bit of glue in the bottom, most of which is Tombow 2-way glue, so the glue that dries in the tip will often stick to the glue in the cup. I keep a pin handy for whatever's left.
There are also a variety of decorative glue pins available - they're stainless steel so they can be left in the tip to keep it clear. I have some in my Etsy store, and there are quite a few other sellers making them as well.
I have all sorts of glues that I store upside down and with a pin in them, if possible. I still have clogs---maybe because I live in the desert and everything is dry! However, the only glue that never clogs (the bit that may be dried on the tip, simply breaks right off) is Tombow Aqua (in the blue and clear bottle with the pen tip). This is not the best glue for everything but works well for thin and small areas where I can't get tape, which I use for everything else. Never have trouble with tape clogging. It's always ready to go!
I seem to have nothing but mess's with my glues. If I use a Pin I swear the packaging is never truthful because mine always turn my glue blackish or brownish. If I keep bottles upside down I get huge pools of glue in the lids. I tend to have to take my tips off when I'm completely done and ready to store and wash them until they are completely clean, pop them back on and store upright. Glue and I do not get along LOL

I have had the same discoloration problems, or when I left the pin in the syringe needle for days it got glued in so tight I couldn't get it out even with pliers. The whole syringe needle came out of its base. I would find washing the tip completely a real problem. I craft in short spans of time that I can spare throughout the day, and never know when the next block of time will be; it might be next hour, tomorrow, the next day, or even next week.
I'm still recommending Zip Dry glue. It has a pointed tip with a pointed cover. Some tips are already cut, some, you need to cut it off to the size you want. I put the cover back on quickly after using it. Sometimes it will dry at the tip and you can pull it off. sometimes it dries in the tip; I just stick a pin in to clear it. No washing needed because it's not water-based. It's too thick to put in another bottle with needle top.
The pins staying in the glue bottles must be stainless steel or they will break down and turn your glue to nasty shades. I have no trouble with stainless steel ones. I use jewelry wire, or stainless steel pins and embellish my glue pin with beads and spacers.
Check out Dina K’s Etsy store. She was the 7th poster. Also I went to Etsy and searched “glue pin toppers”.

Reason: Wrong info first post
I wonder what I can do to make my pin more easy to keep up with. I've seen the pins with the bangles, but not sure what they're called. I think they sell them on Etsy and other places. Maybe I can attach something to it.

i have never seen bangle pins, but they sound delightful.
To keep track of the corsage style pin I use, I put a narrow piece of packing tape on the bottle with the pin in place. It only takes a bit of wiggling the shaft of the pin to make a bit of a gap that allows the pin to easily removed, but still hold it in place.
No more searching for the right pin - it is right there on the side of the bottle!

Would love to see a picture of this. I'm having a terrible time visualizing it.
I have a big piece of styrofoam on my table where I put the pin while I'm using the
glue bottle. Then I can find the pin easily when I need to put it back into the bottle.

I am not at home right now, so can’t provide a photo.
I think what caused confusion is my saying I used packing tape. Simple instructions: take a piece of tape, any tape, about 2 inches long. Hold pin on side of bottle - vertically with colored pin head up and sharp end pointed down. Place tape over center area of pin with tape going from left to right.
After placing tape on bottle, give the pin head a wiggle, which will give a bit of scoosh room for the shaft of the pin to be easily removed/replaced.
Hope this explanation makes it easier to visualize.

Got it! I was thinking you were putting the tape on the pin while it was in the bottle. Thanks for the further explanation. Great tip!
Thank you both so much! Those are great ideas!!
I found what I was talking about on Etsy. They are called Glue Bottle Toppers. I think my cats would probably chew on them.
I think I will try your suggestions!

A magnets strategically placed to your liking may work to hold the "out of bottle" pins...but warning: some stainless steel pins won't adhere to magnets (you may know this from stainless steel refrigerator fronts or microwave interiors). That's the simple explanation.
I know this is a bit off subject, but what glue would you use to attach a polymer piece (stamp) to a piece of fun foam? I used Tombow in the green container as it doesn't dry hard, which is what I want. However, not only didn't it dry hard, it didn't dry, but made a gooey mess and the stamp slips around with normal use. I have cleaned both pieces off and am ready to start again, but don't know what glue to use. The Tombow in the blue container dries hard and can crack. I only use it rarely for tiny place and tiny embellishments. I don't want that for the needed playability of the stamp. Would love to hear your suggestions.

Try using a strong-adhesive, permanent runner tape (Tombo Mono + double sided runner tape…maybe SU? ) or a piece of adhesive tape or sheet that has the pink peel off release plastic on one side (can’t remember what it’s called).
I have had better success mounting polymer stamps to a cut-to-size acrylic block (cheapie acrylic blocks from dollar store). No glue needed for this style of mount and stamp can be removed/repositioned easily.

I thought of that at one point and then dismissed it. Thank you so much for your suggestion. I would rather it be permanent, so I will use a really strong tape. I'm off to do this right now!!!

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to attach a photopolymer stamp to fun foam? They have softness built in and don't really need extra cushion between the stamp and the block. Having a foam mat under the stamp surface can be helpful in getting a nice clear image though.
