Default Happy New Year?

One of my co-workers was recently deployed overseas and a group of us are making a bunch of cards to send to his troop. (read: I'm coming up with everything and preparing all the materials and they will help me stamp and assemble) We've got some fall-ish cards, some generic cards, and several Happy Holidays cards. I'm trying to think of some Happy New Year cards so they've got the whole Nov/Dec/Jan holiday list covered. Problem is... I can't think of anything for New Years! Especially not anything easy (and since it is primarily inexperienced stampers helping me, easy is a necessity). I tried searching the gallery with new year but that didn't give me anything. Any idea of ways to search? Or suggestions of designs?

Maybe something with black and silver......something with stars stamped on........you could do a countdown on the front of the card........Five Four Three Two One....and open up the card to say "Happy New Year, best wishes and new years kisses!" or something to that effect. Does that get your insprirational gears going?

when I first read the response, it didn't help much. after sleeping on it, though.... I have a mental picture of something that I think would work using a form of the recommendation. thanks for the help.

When I think about New Year symbols, I envision Father time and a baby. Perhaps you can incorporate a clock stamp, an elderly man, and/or a baby.

Or, you can do a card with a "Celebration" theme to New Year's.

HTH,
Elizabeth

I was thinking of the 5-4-3-2-1 that was suggested earlier in a vertical layout, a party hat, and some confetti. hopefully I can find some way to put some glitter in there, too, to be all sparkly and party-ish. as apparently the only current set that says Happy New Year is AYC 3, and I only have 1 and 2, I'm going to print the HNY statement using some fun font off my 2 Memory CDs and put it on the inside so the recipient sees it when they open the card.

Think that would work?

Sounds like a really fun card! Glad we could be of assistance. On the glitter, the SU Two Way Glue pen with any of the glitters, I love Dazzling Diamonds, in streamers of glitter would be a pretty backround for the whole card, outside and if you wanted to venture inside the card as a backround (little squigglies with the pen and let the glitter dry on). Awesome, awesome!
