I posted a thread earlier but it won't come up now
Anywho, I'll be in this area next week and will be looking for stamp stores to visit. I've already printed info for Stamp, Scrap n' More and Craft Fancy (they're between 10 and 17 miles from where we'll be staying). I've also got info for the Gurnee Mills Mall. I've been to Stampology and Stamp On In in the past so I'm looking for different stamp stores.
I'll be at the Hilton Garden Inn on North River Woods BLVD in Lake Forest so any info on this area would be great.
On the north side of Chicago is Windy City Scrapbooks, which is an amazing place. Also, in Antioch, which is north, there is a store called Hannahs, which has lots of stamping and scrapping, plus quilting, gifts, etc. It's a really fun store. And don't miss Archiver's ... it's only about 20 minutes from where you will be.
I live in Lake Bluff, which is right next to Lake Forest. Let me know if you need any directions. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the info. I checked out Windy City SB and Hannahs online. They both look great. I've already planned to go to Archivers because that's their make-n-take weekend (we have them here in Indy) and it's not far from our hotel.
Location: NE IL until the US Navy sends us elsewhere!

Holy Cow! I didn't know about the ones in Antioch OR Highland Park! There's a small lss in Gurnee called "The Scrappin Bee" scrappinbee.com, I believe. There's also another lss in Mundelein but I don't know what it's called.
I'm off to check out Hannahs...
We really SHOULD all get together! (I'm in Gurnee)

Are any of these downtown or Lincoln Park area? We are going to Chicago for Spring break in early April. We are staying downtown on the Mag. Mile and won't have a car. Would love to know if there is any good stamp stores downtown to visit.

Stamp On In is in Lincoln Park, Windy City Scrapbooking is a pretty easy cab ride, Stampology is accessible via the subway/elevated train that goes out to O'Hare.
Downtown (on State Street) there is a Dick Blick which has an excellent selection of Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils and all sort of other ways to add color to your life!

Lanette - Are you thinking of Stamp, Scrap & More in Mundelein? FYI - Hannah's in Antioch is not just scrapbooking. They have all kinds of collective pieces, decorations, Crocs, fabric . . . along with a great selection of goods for scrapbooking!
Ragtop - I'm just a town away from Lake Forest too. Is that where you'll be staying? If so, the Scrappin' Bee is pretty close (take 41 North to Washington and just before 21/Milwaukee Ave. the Bee will be on your right). Here is the link to their store: http://www.thescrappinbee.com/index3.htm
If you'll be there around lunch time, there is a wonderful Italian cafe across the street in the corner of the mall called "Tina's Cafe". She has homemade pastas, sandwiches and desserts that are absolutely wonderful!
If you go to Hannah's, there is a little tea house called "Infini-tea" just around the corner. If you have time, stop in for a cup of tea (many to choose from), and dessert, lunch or even high tea! Here is the link to Infini-tea. If you like tea, you've got to stop in! http://www.infini-tea.net/index.htm
Can you tell that my friends and I shedule our scrapbook shopping around lunch?
Craft Fancy in Arlington Heights website: http://craftfancy.com/ Be sure to check out her blog. They have gorgeous papers and embellishments!
Paper Source in Highland Park has beautiful papers and every color and shape envelope you can imagine. I was able to find long red envelopes with a toggle closure there for Asian themed invitations that I made. They were perfect and I don't know where else I would have found them!

I went to Craftfancy, More than Memories and Stampology today. Tomorrow's plan is Stamp, Scrap N' More, Scrapping Bee and maybe The Paper Source in Evanston.
Went to The Paper Source (Evanston), Scrapping Bee, and Stamp, Scrap N' More today. While I found something at each place I went to yesterday and today, I'd have to say my favorite was Stamp, Scrap N' More followed by Craftfancy. I probably could have not gone to Scrapping Bee cause it was 98% scrapping and 2% stamps which is what I was looking for. But she did have a little consignment area that I found a cute Close to My Heart set in.
