Default Fiskars paper cutter tip

I've read on here from several people that have said that they can never get a straight cut with the Fiskars paper cutter. My demo gave me a tip that has really helped me, though you may already know this. She said to always push the blade instead of pulling it if the paper is against the top edge & vice-versa if you're using the bottom edge of the cutter to align it. In other words, always push toward the edge you've got butted to the cutter. Does that make sense?

I also discovered a long time ago that you should always make sure that the edge you butt against the cutter is square with the edge you want to cut!

HTH someone!

I agree. I also suggest that you only use one finger to push the blade, rather than gripping it with your thumb and finger. When you grip the blade, you have a tendency to twist it slightly, pushing against the edge of the guide and distorting it so that your cut is crooked.
