Really... I have sold several... besides. The year just started! Give it a chance!

If you look in the gallery you will see several pages of designs and variations. I find that my customers either love flowers or they do not. Stamp images are very much based on taste, and perhaps your customers just arent into flowers!

Wait... why was this set unmounted? Are you a demonstrator?

Maybe I misunderstood.

Sarah, I am thinking that she hadn't mounted the stamp set yet and sold it for less then she paid. That's what I think she means anyway.

It is true that they are not selling for much at all. Sometimes I buy a set, don't get around to mounting it and fall OUT of love with it before I ever mount it. Bummer when you cannot get part of your money out of it though.

i think this set is difficult.

there is not much what you can do with the flower. it IS a sunflower, other flower sets are so much more usable with different colors than yellow, and i think you have to have summer sun.
but i can be mistaken

I guess I don't understand what you mean. Did you sell it after you bought it?? I know that SU demos are having no problems selling it from the catalog and their customers are very happy with it.

Have you tried trading it? You might have better luck. I wonder if some folks would rather buy brand new as part of a regular order from a demo. You might find it easier to trade for full value.

I bought it, and changed my mind on it before I mounted it. I would have been better off returning it(paying the postage) through my demo. It would not go for an even trade here, and then only 1/2 price of retail on ebay.
Oh well, you live and learn....I was just surprised as it is a new set and quite lovely. Just wasn't for me. I am still having a lot of difficulty knowing which sets I really love, before ordering. Making many shopping errors and then reselling. Something must be wrong with me!

Tthere was a thread on here awhile ago, about different colors of sunflowers...apparently, there are new real-life varieties of other colors, including burgundy! Many people posted samples using these colors, and they are gorgeous! For different color examples, check the gallery for that set...they actually sold me on it.

You are always better off contacting your demo for an exchange than selling on the bay. Also; selling on the bay hurts demos and in turn may contribute to Higher prices with SU and lower incentives for demos. SU is always HAPPY to take exchanges! We love to help our customers and we want you to be HAPPY with your purchase!

Also your demo can often trade a set for you within her own team (if it's large enough) Some teams have over 2000 demos, and a demo can facilitate a fee-free trade.

I thought I would be pestering my demo by asking her to return it. I have to be honest and say, as I have mentioned, that I have much trouble making decisions on sets. And, that may be why she doesn't want me to mess around too much with changing my mind! Problem customer, that is me.!!!
But, from now on, I will just say, that I will gladly pay the return postage on a brand new set. Thanks for the advice.

Well... you know yourself better than anyone! I suppose It's differant if you are a always returning stuff But you can just ask her for the forms and exchange it yourself... no biggie!

At least ask her, she will likely say yes... or post it here in the BST forums...for trade only if it's a current set.

Happy Stamping!

I'm sorry you feel that way about Serene Sunflower! Here is a card I did to make me fall in love with the set. I decided to make it white, like a daisy!
Serene Daisy

Looks great on the new In Colors! I bet any of the Soft Subtles craft inks would make great flowers on dark cardstocks.

I hope you will be inspired with your next stamp set of choice...

I am sorry I did not see your BST. I am a demo and would have traded for it as it is on my list. YOu must have moved very quickly on it without posting for long. I agree to ask your demo if you have recent purchases you want ot trade by returning to SU!

Unfortunately, I don't believe that you can use that form without having it go through your demo. The top portion needs to be filled out by a demonstrator as it pertains to how she/he paid for the item with SU.

As a demonstrator I can assure you that we are more than happy to take care of returns and exchanges. That is what we are here for.

As a side note I have to say that I love this set. I think if you played with it for awhile that you would come to love and appreciate it.

It's a good thing I already have that set and love it, or your daisy would have made me bought in a real hurry.

This is my most favorite set in the catalog. But the most intimidating of them all. I found you just play with it and play with it tell it gets comfortable using it. Its not like any other set SU sells with the 180 turn of the stamp...
I don't think I have yet to make a "sunflower" colored one. My most favorite is the cranberry crisp with a choc. chip center!! Sorry I still have to upload my pictures...

I felt that way about "In the Garden" ... it retired forever ago but I still have it. I have never been able to make anything I like with it. It would probably be a nice set for scrapbooking but I only make cards and stuff like that. I bought it when I was a new stamper thinking it had SO MANY stamps in it that it must be good (duh - what was I thinking). I haven't even tried to sell it ... I'm thinking one day I'll just get irritated with seeing it and chuck in the trash.

I just got it and love it... I agree on trying different colors. I made a blue sunflower card for my husband as a joke but he loved it so much I am going to try and do some more in 'unexpected' colors!

Help! I am going to turn into Andy Warhol (or NOT!!!!).

I try not to be an enabler.

en·abler
Pronunciation: i-'nA-bl&r, -b&l-&r
Function: noun
: one that enables another to achieve an end; especially : one who enables another to persist in self-destructive behavior (as substance abuse) by providing excuses or by making it possible to avoid the consequences of such behavior

I am just following the example of so many other SCSers who have enabled me to buy more stamps! But I wanted to be helpful and show that there are cool other options for this set!

Well I think it is a great set, but then again I love Sunflowers. I just mounted mine yesterday, so I have to go play with it! But I think it could be used to make Gerber Daisy's, Blackeyed Susans (which come in a few different colors) and Sunflowers do come in some unusualy colors too, like burgundy, tried to grow some of those this year but somebody at my seeds! Okay I am going to go give this set some ink time!

I think you need to just forget the "Sunflower" part and experiment with various colours and using the individual shapes in different ways. Sometimes we get locked into one specific idea of how it should look when it doesn't need to be. Just think of it as a cool shape and go wild with the colours. If someone crabs that sunflowers don't come in that colour, their stiff little behinds don't deserve a card anyhow!

I think that trading a current set is tricky. I know personally I would like people out by trading for a current set that they have which is on my 'want' list but on the other hand, I can get it out of the catty and get credit for it (as I am a demo) and also bunch it up with other things I want and get the hostess rewards as well.

I do think, though, that this is one of those sets that has to grow on people. So in that respect, it probably wouldn't be as popular on ebay either. But if the gallery here grows enormous then everyone will want it!

Just used it for the first time and love it! But I would say it is a set that you would probably Love or not Love. However I think you have to use it before you right it off the books, my first card was just a classic sunflower.

Red face eating crow

I am now eating crow, as I am sorry I sold my Sunflower Set. Never thought about black eyed susans, or gerbera daisies. I LOVE all of those late summer blossoms, probably more than any flower. Or the idea of making sunflowers in other colors, for fun. They are pretty in yellow so why not go for oranges, pinks, etc...
Probably will reorder it!
