Fingerprints on glossy....

cardstock. Seems to be a problem I don't realize I have until I have bayered it and there is my big, ole fingerprint. Is there a way to get rid of them? Can I just wipe it off right before I brayer? Any help would be great! :)

I use my embossing buddy all over the glossy white before doing any type of work on it, takes off any stray finger prints I might have accidentally put on there.

And if you don't have an embossing buddy, grab a used dryer sheet (don't use a new one, as there's too much oil in it)

glossy card and fingerprints

I hate to tell you that there is nothing you can do to remove any fingerprints that are already on your gloss card(at least none that I know of) however all is not lost you can you the card in any case - mount and image over the smuge or just use the stock that has not imperfections. Tip: I always handle my gloss card with cotton gloves. For stock you may have that you can see there is a fingerprint on usie it to stamp image directly on it or use it to create a marbled background using shaving cream and die inks-smuges will not effect this technique. I hope this helps...have fun!!!!

I rub a clean cotton ball on my glossy pictures to remove finger prints from them. Maybe you could try this?

It's also a good practice to just wash your hands before handling cardstock. ANY cardstock, but especially glossy and vellum. You skin has a fair amount of natural oils that cause the fingerprints, smudges, etc. that look icky and attract stray bits of embossing powder to boot.

ITA! Wash your hands before you stamp.

Also try an old piece of fleece. It works great to get fingerprints off of photos, should work on glossy cardstock too.
