Question Festive Favorites?

I really like the new set "Festive Favorites"...it's CUTE.

But the catty says "set of 6." Do you think they meant set of 8? I can't see how that would only be 6 stamps...???

Whoa!! I didn't even notice that. I have this set on my wish list. I wonder if maybe the three larget stamps are all one stamp?? Man that really bites. Well I guess if thats the case, I'll just have my hubby cut me 3 smaller blocks of wood, and then I can have them all single stamps.

Maybe the Tags are all on the same block since you would cut them out anyway???

Here is the link for anyone who hasn't seen the set.

Weird....that one is already on my list to buy as soon as my papers come back and I can order. I'm going to subscribe to this thread in case a demo calls and finds out the answer for us. TIA if someone does!

I hope it is a misprint, 8 stamps would make much more sense and be much easier to work with. You ladies have sharp eyes, I would have never picked up on that, lol !

I NEVER buy Christmas stamps, but this one is on my list! Which reminds me that I have to get my order to my demonstrator today!

I called DS 'cause I just ordered that set and missed the "set of 6". The three long blocks are all 1 stamp. Hmmmmm...... So you would have to cut the rubber and mount separately to use one at a time.

Thanks for calling Kathy!!!

Hmmm.....I wonder if the flat side of the wood block is long enough to mount one on each end and one in the regular spot? I'll have to wait and see I guess. My DH is pretty handy if not---maybe I can find a wood block he could use as a template to make three for me.

Nope - I can't see stamping all three either. I just asssumed they were three different stamps. However, it'll be pretty easy to just stamp it and use what you need.....

This is so odd, to group those three together. Especially when, in many sets each and every little dot or dash is a separate stamp...

I wonder if somehow it wasn't a mistake? It just does not make sense. When, ever, would you use the three together?

I agree that is it an unnecessary hassle that I would not want to deal with....However, I love the set....

I was drawn to this set too, and also noticed that it was a set of 6. I hope that "6" is a typo and that there really are 8 stamps in the set.

That is strange since each of the large blocks has a tag to coordinate with it. I don't celebrate christmas, but I was just saying to a friend that if I did, this would be the set I would use for my christmas cards. It is adorable!

That would be a rather large piece of wood, and large stamp, if you look at the dimensions. I think it is a mistake...

Maybe they did it on purpose, knowing that most people mass-produce Christmas cards. You could stamp and color the three designs all at once and cut them out to use on your cards.

It would make more sense to have the tags be the one stamp because there is the tag punch. It could be the other three though.

So what's the final verdict on this set? It is DEFINITELY a set of 6 -- the three big stamps as one?

SU! seems to be doing some strange things this year, and they don't seem to have edited the catalogue as closely as they perhaps should have. Or maybe we're all just a *little* too obsessed! LOL

OK, so I had to go look at it... I think it would be fine to have those three stamps together (snowmen, reindeer and trees) but why are they spaced so far apart???

I think it would be a PITA, IMHO. I don't WANT those stamps together. And it would be easy enough to stamp only the top or the bottom one, but not so much the middle one -- plus, if you're watercoloring, the stampin' write marker isn't waterproof, etc. etc.

My demo suggested cutting the block up into three, but I am just having a really hard time believing that SU would DO this! It's weird, is it not?

Probably to make it easier to ink one at a time if that's what you want. You can also ink up the whole thing and just cut out the one you want. I don't think it's going to be a problem...but I'll let you know as soon as mine comes, lol! I can't wait to play with it!

Since the block is so large, I will cut them apart and move the middle one to the other side of the block. On the other side I will mount one facing up from each end. This way I can ink them up all individually. DS said the reasoning for this is so that you can use them on a card at the same time, kind of background style. To make quick and easy cards. Personally I would prefer them individually, but the great thing about mounting your own stamps is you can choose how to mount them! No problem for me!
