Default I'm cornfused (again)

Ok so I was on Ebay being all chismosa (nosey) and stuffess and I was noticing a LOT from the mini cattie on there.. (the stocking stamp set & punch) anyways..

For the demo's out there, and you dont have to answer, but I'm curious.. do you guys get THAT much of a discount it's worth it to sell on Ebay? And I know that it isn't suppose to happen, but, we all know it does..

The SU! demo discount is no secret -- it's 20%.

I'll stay away from commenting on the eBay thing.

I think that *sometimes* the people posting current product are customers who decide they don't want what they ordered. I did say "sometimes"! But that is perfectly legitimate.

And I can't imagine buying on ebay (ever) without knowing the value of what I was buying. That's why it just flabbergasts me when people pay more on ebay than what they could get through a demo, or just online ordering.

Some of us can only buy on eBay if we want SU stuff. Although I don't think I've ever bought anything current except a couple of embossing folders.

Mini-jack--sorry! ;)

I just had to chuckle--I'm not a native speaker (used to be a high school Spanish teacher years ago, tho)--I hardly ever hear anyone say "chismosa" and the way you used it here just made me laugh and smile.

Well, that, and "cornfused". I often feel cornfused, too! *more chuckling*

No worries Julie... then should I tell you what my daughter tells EVERYONE I am??

ok ok.. I will.. now mind you we do not speak Spanish.. but when she was in a daycare that became HER first language, the one thing she has retained from then (mind you she is now 16) is.. she tells everyone "my mom is a mucho chismosa la bruja"

and she has me listed on her phone as Bruja.. *sigh* kids LOL

I got a good laugh at the mention of being "cornfused" - typos can really add some humor to the English language. Thanks for the laugh - I'm still giggling!

Your daughter sounds pretty funny too - Kids!

I do remember reading about a lady that purchased from multiple demos and would sell the stuff on ebay. She was not a demo herself. She offered shipping out of the country so people who could not buy SU or the same SU stuff would buy from her on ebay and they would pay enough so that she was making money at it.

Punches often go higher on Ebay than the catalog price...I often placed orders with my demo when she offered her discount to hit sales amounts for a certain month...she knew she could count on me to always place at least a $150 order, and she never batted an eye when I had 2 slit punches and two slot punches on every order. I personally am not bound by the agreement not to sell on Ebay because I am not a demo, and when I only want $130 worth of stuff and I can order 4 $6 punches to get the hostess benefits, and can then turn around and sell those 4 punches for $14 each on Ebay, I did it.

Ethical? Probably not, since I do know demos can't sell on Ebay, but entirely legal. And does this hurt demo sales? How in the world could it, when the punches are 60% cheaper through a demo??

Now if I know these facts, demos definitely know them...and making money often gets in the way of following the rules. How many do you think are having their neighbor, sister, or friend do the sales to get around the legality of it?

Oh and I have to add...I highly doubt any of the demos who do sell on Ebay are here on SCS! Too much publicity...too easy to trace names from Ebay who are demos...and the guilt over posts like this wouldn't be so fun. LOL
