Default those that have seen cub's watermark tutorial

For those that have seen Kurtis' turtorial on watermarks using Photoshop Elements 4.0 ; I watched it about 10 times. Basically have it memorized. But there is a small (but VERY important) part of the video where I cannot see what he is clicking on. It is right BEFORE he starts to color the background.

His background is a small, white rectangular image that he colors in with blue. I cannot for the life of me, figure out how he gets this rectangular shape. I have fast forwarded dozens of times, stopping and and starting, hoping to catch what he clicks on to get this shape/image. I cannot get it. I think the film might quickly skip over this part or he might just click too fast.

I can do everything else. But without this small white image (mine is HUGE), I cannot go any further and make my watermark.

HELP!!!! (I put an e-mail in to Kurtis, but I don't know when I can expect an answer and thought I would try here).

The simple act of creating a new layout and setting at 300x200 @72 pixels is what is creating his 'rectangle'. That rectangle is not a shape on the layout, that is the size of the entire layout. The size of the item on your screen is irrelevant to the actual size of the image because of the zoom function. Are you sure your's isn't set to something >100%? His is set to 100%. As long as you use the same dimensions as he indicates, yours will be ok.

thanks...I'll go back and try again...I thought I had checked that my dimensions were ok and were at 100%; obviously not, because when I set 300x200 at 72 resolution, I don't get a small rectangle. I get a big one.

Thanks! Something MUST be amiss!

Maybe you just have a larger screen or you can zoom out?

Do you have it at 300 x 200 pixels, as opposed to 200 x 300 inches.
