Default faux stitching

Does it look as good in person as it does on the cards in the gallery? Is there a certain pen that works better than others?

Yes!! It's an AWESOME technique!
Gel pens work well because they have a slightly "poufy" look to them that you don't get with regular markers.

It sure does! The pen sold in the SU! catty is the best of the white gel pens, IMO. I've tried several other brands, and only recently got the Signo -- the ink flows SOOO much more smoothly! Luvin' it!

Yep, the signo gel pen from SU is the best IMO. Most gel pens "break-up" when writing with them or leave blobs. The Signo has NEVER done either of those things to me.

I used the CTMH Simple stiches and it looks good - I have some examples in my gallery (they cards are simple, but you can see the stiches)

How exciting!! I LOVE the stitched look, but I hate sewing. I'll order one today.

Elsewhere in this forum, it appears that the Uniball Signo White pen as carried in the 2006 SU! catalog has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you like it, buy all you are going to before June 30. I would think it unlikely that a discountinued product will be in next year's catalog.

I've been told that they are continuing to make them for SU!, even though they're not offering them on the general market anymore. I'd still stock up, though, because I love them and don't want to be without one should I lose it or use it up and not be able to place another order right away!

I also use markers - that allows me to have any color "thread". They don't give the dimesnions that Gel Pens do, but at least you can vary the color. I just had a brain spark that I am going to try - marker and then clear glaze over top! I also love the look of the Star Dust "shimmer" pen - it looks like that special embroidery thread

I'm here to add that ''YES''... the S/U white gel pen is the best! I bought 2 others (GOOD name brands) before I finally admitted I had to get the S/U one! NOW.... I LOVE IT!! Hard to NOT 'stitch' on every card!!

Love the white gel pen from SU ... it is awesome. I bought an extra, just in case it is discontinued. Hopefully it is not discontinued, or people will be searching for a pen just as good!

I LOVE faux stitching. And seriously, what I use, is a white Crayola colored pencil and it works every time!
