It is so simple! Use a paper piercer (or just regular needle like I do - though I have heard the paper piercer is easier) and then, you guessed it, create a stitch using a gel pen. (Signo Gel Pens that SU! sells are the best!). Connect the hole with the gel pen to your liking...creating a blanket stitch or regular stitch. Have fun!

I am a little compulsive so I use the Mat Pack to punch my holes (they are pre-spaced) then I connect with the gel pen. Then I go back and re-punch the holes where you cant' see the gel pen anymore. Very easy! Have fun!

I assume that jenmason is talking about the Mat Pack that comes in SU's Tool Kit or is also sold separately on page 228 in the catty.

I just ordered the mat pack and the SU white gel pen, I can not wait to try faux stitching. I do sew and have a sewing machine but hate to drag it out for my stitching on cards..lol. I can't wait for my order to get here on Thursday! lol.

Are you ladies using a regular white gel pen or a gel glaze pen for the stitching?

I agree, SU's white gel pen is the best I've tried.

Well since I believe it is my card you are referring to in your OP, I'll answer how I made the faux blanket stitching. I lined my card up with the grid SU! grid paper and just made a small dot with a regular marker 1/4 into the card and then dragged the pen to the left like you would with a checkmark. This drag would go approx to the next 1/4" mark. Then start again right under the end of the first mark. It is all done by hand and uses no punches. To my knowledge this is not a full fledged "technique" but my own spin on the faux stitch idea. Here is a link to the card in question: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...00&ppuser=6764

Love your card, Kristin - saw it before and showed it to my DH... Quote "WOW! that looks like a lot of work - but it's great!" so I'll have to case it for his valentine card this year - thanks!!
