Default Velum question

Has anyone tried to put velum through their printer to get some fancy fonts on it for wording? I just got a few new fonts and thought I would type up a bunch of sayings I'd like to use on cards and print them on velum, but was wondering if anyone else had used velum through a printer. I have a jetlaser printer.

Yep, I run velum through my ink jet all the time. Just set it so it prints with the least amount of ink on the page or it will never dry. -For me I set it for printing on transparencies. You can also use a heat gun to help it dry.

Oh, and a few times I've printed it with the normal setting (so it's inky) and then used embossing pwdr to emboss it.

OH never thought of embossing it! I run vellum through my printer on the transparency setting also.

Another trick is to rub your embossing buddy on the vellum before printing.
