Now that's one of the many combos I never would have thought of...do you have anything in your gallery that uses these colors together?

It's the green, that certain colour green, but it was fine to imagine as grass though. I made another card in it and I didn't like that one very much either!!!!LOL!!!

Any time I use a Bold Bright I am using a color that I hate. The last time I used one of those colors was for a Limited Supply Challenge - glorious green. that was several months ago.

Smile color you hate

I find it hard to use all the purples. I just don't get into those colors, but I have people that I make cards for that really like purple. I made one of those papercrafts purses with purple and black using the Haute Coutre stamps. It turned out really cool!

A card club I belong to sends out a 'cardmakers dream pack' after you've paid your subscription. You get a huge selection of their card blanks in all shapes, sizes and colours. Any orange and pea green cards always languish at the bottom of the box.

A few months ago, after a craft room clearout, I decided that I was going to use the green and orange cards. So I made them and popped them in my box of 'for sale' cards - they were the first ones to sell to my complete and utter amazement LOL!

I still wouldn't choose to use those colours though!

I bought a package of Apricot Appeal awhile ago. Now, I'm trying to figure out what in the world possessed me to do that. I do not like it at all. Other colors that I can't see myself ever using...sage shadow, yoyo yellow and Handsom Hunter... eeewwww, yuck!

i feel kinda strange after reading all the posts here...

because most of my favorites are the ones a lot of people can't stand!

pumpkin pie, more mustard, green galore, cameo coral, night of navy, taken with teal...
you'll see lots of these colors in MY gallery
(hhhmmm- let me think about that)

Lately, I've been having a Personal Color Challenge of sorts -- I realized that there are whole color families I rarely use. Being the pack-rat that I am, I naturally have lots of assortment-packs of those families -- just in case! So I've started with my least-fave and least-used, the Soft Subtles and am working my way through the colors in alphabetical order. Have forced myself to make at least one card featuring each color, and it really has been kind of fun! I'm not always thrilled with the results, but it is a good creative exercise for me. What has been a great help is the new Color Coach -- it's got some great color suggestions that I would never have thought of on my own (usually from the families I *do* love and use), and I've added some new combinations to my repertoire as a result. I'm almost done with the SS, so it will be on to the Bold Brights next!

I totally agree with kcmomof3 about Sage Shadow. When I first started stamping, I bought the Soft Subtles Assortment pack. I used up all three sheets of Sage Shadow trying to get it to match something, anything. Gave up. Never replaced the paper and haven't missed it.

Now, I could not function without Mellow Moss, Old Olive, or Always Artichoke. Love em!

I hate purples. I think of them as puke purples, putrid purples. Unfortunately, I've gotten a couple of requests for cards in purple. One of my co-worker's favourite colours is purple! Yuck!! I don't even bother buying individual sheets of this colour (I have no use for purple scraps either!!). I just watercolour a piece of white paper with purple. But strangely, it is only purple paper that I feel this way about. I like purple inks and paints.

I've made a bunch of cards in colours that I wouldn't use if I didn't want to use them up. I've been working diligently at using up a pack of Fiskars Brights paper (with colours so bright they make Yo Yo Yellow look mellow -- no joke!). I've also been trying to use up The Slab III which is full of some really unpleasant colour combos for me -- I get no inspiration from them and find them difficult to combine in pleasant ways.

I find if I stamp a background like CHF's Rice Paper or Weave over it, that tones it down and makes it useable. Hopefully this trick will work on Violent Fuschia, a terrible colour I got in a combo pack that lurks in my paper stash to this day and mocks me every time I go in for some purple cardstock.

It just goes to show you everyone has different tastes and everyone has their "old standbys" they fall back on, but that's a different thread..

I personally like teal (especially with chocolate chip and celery). I don't use glorious green or bordering blue very often.

A thought on your VF, Mel: try overstamping with Navy. It's amazing what Navy will do to tone down a lot of colors. HTH

How interesting -- a classic case of different strokes! Sage Shadow is my favorite of the colors in the SS family -- I think it plays *very* well with all the other SS colors, with the exception of the other greens. I love it with Perfect Plum, which for me is a very difficult color with which to work. It also looks pretty snappy with Night of Navy, Black, dark (charcoal) gray and Chocolate Chip, IMHO. Keep meaning to try it with Cool Carib and Bucky Blue -- though not necessarily in the same project.

I just love greens -- they're Nature's Neutrals. The only green of SU's I have a hard time loving is Green Galore -- it makes my eyes cross, truly! It will be quite a challenge to find something pleasing to put with it when my PCC moves to the Bold Brights family...
