Default ever do a card in a color you hate?

Have you done a card in a color you really don't like, just to try to use up cardstock? Boy, is that an exercise in frustration. I just did one in Pumpkin Pie and paired it up with this orangey looking DP that I'm trying to get rid of. The card turned out pretty cute, just because of the image. But it will be my last orange card. Just going to use that orange for layers from now on.

Oh, and SOMEONE will be getting this birthday card. I don't really care if they don't like orange. They probably do. I seem to have a severe problem with this color.
(darn, you can't even look at it...my camera is broke...I've got a whack of cards just waiting to upload).

Oh me too! That is an "ick" colour to me.

On the orange theme, though, the only time I find myself drawn to the warm shades like that, is in the fall. So maybe save that birthday card for a fall birthday.

Default orange cards

i really like pumpkin pie and more mustard. They go great with the old olive and the artichoke colors. The happy fall ya'll retired set and the lovely as a tree sets are great to use these on.

That's too funny - I ADORE Pumpkin Pie - and I seem to be using it a lot lately - that and a lot of other shades of orange (take a look at my most recent uploads to my gallery and you'll see lots of orange!!)

Personally - I like all colors - some a lot more than others. There are quite a few I don't use very often (like Night of Navy - I can't even remember the last time I used it) but they come in handy on those rare occasions I DO need that color LOL!

I had trouble with orange too, till I paired it up with cool carribean and brown. This is a set of cards I did with that combo and the small hit of orange was great.

Now purple that's another story! LOL!

Another Pumpkin Pie lover here. I'm recently converted. I love it with Caribbean and Black...so cute!
Colors I have a hard time with are the bright or hunter greens, purples, and navy blues. And of all the blues we have, I just don't love them (Except Cool Caribbean and Buckaroo Blue...go FIGURE)

I like almost every color under the rainbow . . . even MINT! But I have to admit, I don't reach for yellows too often. I should though . . . Julia's Way's to Use YoYo Yellow last week had me using it and I thought my card turned out really cute.

How funny about the teal! It's kind of like when you go to a restaurant and have a bad meal or experience and they tell you that you don't have to pay. It's like THANKS SO MUCH!

I'm not a pink or purple person, but I find myself using them both a lot, particularly with green galore, because my three granddaughters love those colors. Oh,gee - that reminds me - must order some more pink passion - LOL!

I did a halloween card with pumpkin, lovely lilac, black and white and it turned out awesome! But they are all colors I like. I would say my issue would be with the kraft paper, and barely banana is one that I don't use at all.

Default I like a little bit of orange

Now, when I see a color combo of orange, CC and brown...that I like. It's cause it has just a bit of orange in it. But the card I made? Mostly Pumpkin Pie. Blech. I think it might make a nice fall birthday card, though, as someone mentioned.

That does look awesome...very tropical and sunny looking. Now I have to try that combo I just have a half dozen sheets of PP from my EE assorted packs. I generally work with the SS, chocolate, close to cocoa and black. Oh and CC of course

My mother actually LOVE anything orange so it would probably be a great card for her! I hate the color orange but clothing wise my son looks GREAT in it! I LOVE purple, absolutely love it, and there are several teachers I work with that love it, so I just ordered the Bazzil purples pack and the inks ooh and the new Bazzil bling flirty which is sparkly and purple! I truly believe it depends on the person, some people are just more drawn to certain colors, I wonder what it says about our personalities?!

I love oranges -- pumpkin pie is a favorite. Really, about the only color I don't like is blush blossom -- too peachy for my taste. But I've learned that if I use it in the right amount, even blush blossom can look good.

When I got my first combo pack of Earth Elements(the old ones) the last 3 sheets left were cameo coral, so I took a sheet and stamped some of my outlines flowers on it and layered it with ruby, summer sun, garden green and put it on black and it looked pretty good. Still have never ordered a whole pack of cameo, but I can tolerate it in small doses.

I didn't care for the cameo coral (till I tried to use it up recently). I paired it with cool caribbean and black and it looked so adorable. I was shocked!

No. There are few colors I actually loathe, save one: Kelly Green.

I avoid making anything with that color at all costs, as far as card stock goes, and have about 24 sheets of it that have sat here untouched for, oh, a few years now. Obviously, I have "issues". *snort*

Teal looks most excellent when combined with Celery, Apricot, & Turquoise!

Oh, I know what you mean on that Golden Umber...when I was a CTMH consultant, I always had to pull out the Color Combo Guide on that color!

My yuck color is: Yoyo Yellow
I made a card with it because I don't like the color and guess what? I didn't like the card either! Think I gave it to my DD for a friends birthday.
(I don't even think I put my name stamp on the back!)

Two of my nieces love orange and yellow -- the BRIGHT versions. My other two nieces just graduated and their school colors were orange and blue. (I like blue.) Anyhow, I typically only buy individual sheets of paper to accommodate their tastes.

So.. yes, I've created a few cards with colors I don't personally care for.

A couple of schools in my area has black and orange for their colors and I made graduation cards using them. Not a big fan of Only Orange, but I thought these turned out pretty good.
