It is a small sack filled with a powder, to reduce static on stuff before you embossing. You rub it across your paper, then stamp and emboss, and it prevents stray flecks of embossing powder from adhereing in the wrong places! I also use mine to de-static the inside of my tidy tray before embossing or using microbeads.

I really like mine, except for using it on dark cardstock - it leaves a powdery film on it. I use it on my tidy tray also, it helps keep the glitter and embossing owder from going all over the place when I try to get it back in the container.

I was told that dryer sheets work, however, I tried it with black embossing powder and it didn't. I gave in and ordered one today.

Mine is great! tried dryer sheets, doesn't work as well, gave in and bought one. Just dust if off the dark cardstock.

If you use the embossing buddy on dark cardstock I have found that a paint brush or stipple brush works great to get the extra powder off.

I've always used dryer sheets until about 6 months ago. I love the embossing buddy, especially on glossy paper.

the embossing buddy is on my list, but I gotta tell you, I just use the arm of one of my sweatshirts (which I seem to live in) and rub across it a few times and that also works great.

Mine is about 3 years old and I have never used it because it was stuck back in the corner of a drawer. Now that I have found it, I am going to use it. Does it have a shelf life? In other words, if I haven't used it in so long will it still work? Are these a lifetime purchase or one that needs to be changed out every now and then? Geez, can I ask the same question any other way?
