Default ?? about pastels and what to do with them!

do you just stamp an image and then use the applicator to color in the image? does it smear? do I have to 'set' it? I have an embossing gun, but I have heard of people using hairspray...doesnt that make the whole card sticky? I am a newbie with pretty much nothing, but I was thinking of getting these to color in my images...
thanks!

Yep, stamp, color, spray. Very easy, very fun!! Very nice touch on any card. I've not had issues with a card being sticky when I spray it with hair spray, just a light coat of a cheap aresol will do. It's a great way to keep from worrying about it possibly smearing.

If you don't like the hairspray idea you can use any kind of art fixative. Krylon has one at walmart you can get. I've never tried the hairspray personally, but I do use the fixative so it won't smear if somebody touches the image.

You will love the chalks. You can really do a lot with them. If you stamp and image with veramark and then either use a sponge dauber or a make-up sponge (like from the dollar store -those triangle shaped ones)and sponge on you chalk and then onto the stamped w/ versamark image it will really "pop"... anyway, it is really pretty, do a search in the gallery under poppin pastels and you should come up with some really pretty images. I've made many cards this way, but I've never sealed them with hair spray or anything and I haven't had a problem. Also, you can color with them using a blender pen, with automatically seals the chalks.
