Default IDEAS??? Golden Anniversary Party Invitation

Not sure where to post this but I am at my witts end. I have searched and searched and can find no creative samples appropriate for an invitation to a "golden/50th" wedding anniversary. I am looking for something more elegant or sophisticated than whimsical. Anyone have any thoughts, scanned images, or websites they can turn me onto for ideas?

Last year I made some very lovely invitations for my husband's grandmother's 80th birthday. I used off white CS and folded two sides into the middle front. Then I used gold paint and made small dots on both sides. The outside was finished by using an organdy ribbon with gold edges that I found at Michael's. I just tied a knot in it around the whole card. On the inside, I embossed the invitation stamp in gold and wrote the info with gold pen. I put a piece of vellum over the top of that held in with four gold photo corners. I hope all of this makes since. It was a very easy card but also very elegant. Hope this helps.

I know what you mean! I had the same issue last year when I was asked to make my Aunt & Uncle's invitations. I finally did get an idea from someone...

First layer was black cardstock, then brushed gold, then I put their wedding photo, then vellum with the party info. And had gold organdy at the top. They were elegent looking.
I'm sorry I don't have access to a scanner or digital camera right now.

I also made some of the nugget candies with address labels. The almond ones have gold wrappers, and I printed on the labels then stamped on the sides. And put them in glass heart dishes that I found at walmart for 97cents.

Here is an idea that I received as a wedding invitation that could easily be converted to an anniversary one. The invitation was printed with computer on a pearlescent white cardstock, then mounted on a silver mat (this one was 5 x 7). A sheet of printed vellum was wrapped completely around the cardstock and tied with a ribbon. You could easily use a variety of different cardstock and vellum depending on your taste and/or budget. Hope this helps!

I like the idea with the vellum over the wedding photo as well!

I got an idea from a card that Beate did last year and used it for 50th anniv. cards for some friends. It turned out great. I don't know how to link this post to that photo, but it is in the sketch an event set and it is titled Elegant Wedding. It is done in silver, but I switched it to gold for this occasion. Hope this helps!

I cased this card recently wiht a friend of mine for her parents 50th. Instead of a pear we put their picture in. The shimmery white paper is so pretty and this card makes up quickly. I have had people that got the invitations calling me wanting to get the paper Oh yes, we printed the invitation inforamation right on the cardstock on the inside
