Question Wendy...DO you have a close up photo of the benno Ikea shelves with your stamps on them? I am just wondering how many fit, etc. Are your stamps unmounted? I have one of those shelf units tha isn't really being used and would love to put it into my scrap area. Thanks,
Jen
My stamps are all unmounted. You can store 5 stamp sets, laying flat in the box, on each shelf (except one of the shelves only holds four). You can also get six bg stamps on a shelf if you take them out of the box and put them on their sides.
Your room is just gorgeous! It must be inspiring just to sit in there! I'm thoroughly jealous!
One question: What did you choose for your countertop material? Is it Silestone? Corrianne? Granite? I am curious. And can you tell me why you chose it? Thanks!
Oh my gosh -- it's beautiful! and so CLEAN! We recently finished our basement and I got a little studio area of my own -- but right now it's a total mess! You are inspiring me to clean it up!
Enjoy your little slice of heaven!
You're never gonna believe this, but the countertop is just some laminate that we picked out at Home Depot! Nothing special (except, of course, to me!!) I picked it mostly because I liked the colors (it is a mixture of a rusty brown, always artichoke and black!). It matches my rug, my sofa (on the other end of the room), and it won't show dirt! It wipes up really quick and clean. My favorite things about this room are the magnet board, and the fact that I can clean up so quickly. When there is a place for everything, it goes so fast! ;)
Thanks for all the nice comments, girls! It makes this room even more fun for me! If any of you are ever in SLC, feel free to let me know! I'd love to have you come and play!
Love it! We are remodeling in the spring and I can't wait to set up my new "studio"....where did you get your cabinets? Is the one you have your hanging files in specifically for "files" or is it a kitchen cabinet that can house them?
Thanks!!!
The cabinets are "Mill's Pride" from Home Depot. We worked with a kitchen specialist there, who helped me design the space based on the measurements I took of the available space. The file drawers are all part of the "Mill's Pride" line, also. They are great! The file drawers come as a unit . . . all three drawers come together. We, obviously, got two of them. They actually can fit at least one of each package of all 48 colors of cs! It was a very tight fit, so I moved some of them to the second drawer. They do fit a lot more than I thought they would, though.
You have the best stamp room. Everything looks great. I am so jealous.
I really love the drawers with your stamps sets in them looks like they would be much easier to find than on a shelf.
Hey, Sheila! All I can say is, great minds must think alike! I made all the cards on the board myself! Which one looks like your convention swap? Too funny if they look the same!
I made the board myself. I bought magnetic sheeting (or flashing) in 12 x 12 pieces at Roberts. Then, I mounted them on my wall with picture mounting tape. I used some scissors I bought specifically for cutting the sheeting at Roberts ($2.99?) to trim the end piece to fit. Then, I used some more mounting tape to "frame" the board with some ribbon. My dd and I made some magnets last weekend using those glass "frogs" that you can buy (clear, but flat on one side). Used some mod podge to adhere the stamped image and the magnet! That's it! My husband just could not understand what I was talking about when I told him what I wanted to do. So non-visionary! (At least when it comes to all things crafty!

Hi Wendy,
Looking more closely at your purple/yellow card, I see that it is close to mine, but not exact. Sorry for the misrepresentation that it was my swap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No worries! I believe in giving credit where credit is due. I did actually make that card, but had forgotten where I had seen it until you PM'd me about it being on SS last year. I have only ever exactly CASE'd a card two times - your card and the chocolate candies card - both of which are on my magnet board. Usually, I like to change at least one or two things . . . color, a stamp or something. But I liked that both so much EXACTLY the way they were, that I just couldn't resist. Love 'em, love 'em! That's why they are on my board!!
