Default donating cards

Any suggestions for places to donate cards besides the troops? They don't seem to sell and I'm accumulating quite a few. I do box them up for gifts, but maybe there is someplace that could really use them.

I don't know if you have seen but SCS sponsors a card drive, the last couple of years so besides the troops, I also donate my cards to:
The Department of Volunteer Services – Unit 115
Attn: Maggi Suttles
UT MD Anderson Cancer Center
1515 Holcombe Boulevard
Houston, TX 77030

Here is thread for October: Hope You Can Cling To Challenge Forum - Splitcoaststampers

You can also donate to a local Ronald McDonald House. If you do not have a local one, click on the link in my siggy to take you to a thread where you can find a house that uses the cards. We do add the envies to the cards if you have them--I also put mine in the plastic sleeve as it is easier for them to look through.

Hope this helps--Barb

Also, there are a number of organizations that you can send cards to monthly. I participate with an organization called - Birthday Buddies. I don't just send birthday cards, I send the people cards all year round.

However, this is an organization that has you send cards to the individuals. But, I have 7 buddies and I send 7 cards at a time - usually every few weeks. It's a thought.

Under the Splitcoast Challenger, there is a place for Cards for a Cause, every month there is an organization that will be benefiting these cards.

Recently a friend and I donated 350 cards to our local senior center. The senior center was so happy to receive them; they were sold during their annual fundraiser and we were told that they'd be happy to receive more cards from us that they'll put in their gift shop.

Here's another one: Send a Smile 4 Kids This one collects cards for children in hospitals. We became aware of this one when asked to help with an upcoming card drive later this month.

I am a former demo and I just unearthed a huge box of swap cardfronts. Does anyone know where I can send them? I don't have the supplies to turn them into full cards but I know I have donated swap cards through SCS before.

teacher114: click on the Cards for a Cause forum link up above and then click on the December 2011 link and you will find an address where you can ship your card fronts.

What about some of your local nursing homes? Some residents just don't have family to care whether it's their birthday or not!

I donate to my church. They either send them or give them to shut ins. If I have a bunch they sell them at their bazaar.
