Do you sell your handmade cards there?
How do the fees work? (I'm going back to read more right now, but want as much input as possible)
And do you have much success?
HI Vicki,
I have not actually done it yet, but i did set up a "store" and then when it got to the make a banner and make it pretty part i stopped messing around with it. and mailed off all my extra cards to the troops...
but someday, I think i will do it.
I think its just .20 cents to list something and the listing's good for 4 months?
Thanks Stacy! Yeah, that's another thing I was wondering - how time consuming is it to set up, and would it even be worth it. I mean are people actually SELLing cards there, or just listing them with no action. KWIM?
It's not hard at all to set up. If you want to make yourself a banner, that might take a while, but I don't do Photoshop, so I bought mine, LOL! It is worthwhile writing a short bio about yourself, and setting some shop policies.
As far as fees, there's a .20 listing fee, and a 3.5% fee when you sell an item, so in essence, it's similar to FeeBay. You do get 4 months rather than 7 days, though.
I have sold a few cards, but they're not one of my top sellers. I haven't had time to list too many, though, as I recently started a full time job. I think the more you have available, the better your sales. It helps soften the shipping blow when you're able to buy several at once.
I will say that the top card sellers at Etsy seem to be computer graphics or letterpress cards. I don't think stamped cards are quite as much in demand.
I've been selling handcrafted things online for nearly 10 years, and Etsy is by far the easiest venue. You can click on "Time Machine 2" and then the button for "Just Sold" to watch a scroll of what's selling.

I think that answers my biggest question! I'd love to find a place to sell my cards. Not necessarily to make a profit, but to get something for them.

I only started selling on Etsy not too long ago. I've only sold one card, but with my listings going through Jul, I'm not too worried. I've had lots of views, but like the OP said, cards aren't in the highest demand.
When you look at the Time Machine you'll see lots of jewlery and beaded items. That's just not what I make. But, it's fun anyway ;)
