Slice products at Michaels - wouldn't let me use coupon though

DH and I just got back from Michaels and they have a few Slice products. I had a 40% off coupon and a 50% off coupon. The 50% one said it cannot be used on Cricut or Slice but 40% one said nothing about Slice being excluded. The SA is a friend so she said she would try to use the coupon but it probably won't work. Guess what, it didn't! It just beeped at her. I told her it isn't excluded and she said she can't change it.

I didn't know what else to do. Has anyone else tried?

I had tried to use a 40% coupon to buy a slice cartridge but they wouldn't let me either. I wish they would put it on the coupon rather than having people try and then tell them it wouldn't work. Hopefully, they'll put in on the coupons from now on.

that's so frustrating- I tried to buy a magazine there with a JoAnns coupon ( get tons of those in the mail) and they said they don't allow that either-

It would be helpful if there was a exception sheet to the coupons posted somewhere to reference!

They did let you use the coupon for about the first month. Right now either Michael's or Hobby Lobby has slice 30% off. Check the ads on line. At least 30 percent off is something.
