Default Immpressionist Watercolour help

HI,
Does anyone have direction for this technique? I have sprayed the water onto the solid stamps before for a watery effect but this seems to be softer than that...do you spritzs/water wash the paper first?
Any help would be appreciated!
Sue

I sprayed my paper first, stamped my image, quickly restamped again only offset this time, once it was dry I stamped again over the top.
