Do you know this lady stamper?

A friend brought me a bag full of stamps that he had picked up at garage sales. Tonight I "tested" this one and found a lady who resembles me in some way.

Do you know the maker of the stamp? (the words may not be from the same manufacturer - separate pieces of rubber)

GarnetJ 08-06-2006 09:53 PM

Oooops!!!

etsdas 08-07-2006 03:31 AM

GarnetJ - When I read your posts I often think there are similarities between us. Now that I have seen this stamp, I know that is the case! I did not know that a stamp designer was lurking in my shadows...That stamp is too funny!

Lisa Loiselle 08-07-2006 05:06 AM

Great stamp, Garnet!

GarnetJ 08-07-2006 08:18 PM

Still no answer???

EllenH 08-07-2006 10:22 PM

No answer - but definitely a good laugh!

stampmouse 08-07-2006 10:35 PM

can't belive no one knows what this stamp is.

jgrabe 08-09-2006 03:52 AM

It is way to funny. I am sitting here laughing! It reminds me of A stamp I got A long time ago. It was made buy The Diamond Company I think.

WAXYO 08-09-2006 10:09 AM

don't know about the stamp, but I know I need friends like yours!

how fun to receive a bag full of treasures like that!

stampin4smiles 08-09-2006 10:51 AM

Sorry I can't help out either, but love the stamp! Anyone out there know something??????

stampmouse 08-09-2006 08:09 PM

bumping for more views

steffsscraps 08-09-2006 10:25 PM

I would love for someone to give me a bag of stamps right now! Love the stamp! Too cute.

GarnetJ 08-10-2006 08:49 PM

Sigh........ I have tried google search which usually brings me success, but with no luck. Lady Rubber Stamper is too generic. But, when I added the word Funny, I got references to Barbara Streisand, which isn't even accurate, since that should be Funny Girl.

MSBetsyZ 08-10-2006 09:38 PM

LOL, don't forget the sequel...Funny Lady. Sorry, can't help with the stamp, though!

stampmouse 08-12-2006 08:22 AM

I tried a google search too nothing. I did ask on another list I am on so maybe there will be an answer

stac 08-12-2006 09:19 AM

Sorry no answer, but love your stamp! What an awesome garage sale find!

Pickled-Tink 08-12-2006 12:07 PM

I may be wrong, but I think Art Impressions out of Oregon is the maker of your stamp. The face on the lady reminds me of several other stamps they made with children, because of the big eyes... and they have a whole line of hilarious elderly people in various situations.... The art style is so similar. I Just did a search on their site and could not find it, but it may be discontinued. The only other company that comes to mind with this style was Eureka! stamps.... But if I was a bettin' woman...I would say Art Impressions.... I will stay tuned to see if someone else can name it for sure!! Good luck... it is definitely a treasure to keep....(And so is the friend who brought you the bag of stamps!!)...

GrannyKat 08-12-2006 12:23 PM

Oh, lucky you! I'll bet every stamper out there would love this stamp. I hope you find the manufacturer...they could sell a bunch of these!

GarnetJ 08-12-2006 01:05 PM

Thank you.....

Thank you Pickled-Tink, She does look similar to the funny people at Art Impressions, but I didn't find her.
Tried to google "people stamps". Found that lots of companies have that category. And some have totally beautiful stamps. Oh, my aching budget!!!

Here are two.......
Elusive Images ( love the hats)
Rubber Monger People

Also found 155 stamps on ebay by just putting in the word "lady" in the rubber stamps category.

GarnetJ 08-12-2006 03:04 PM

Found the funniest ladies (sisters to my stamp) on ebay after typing in diamond. Diamonds Rubber Stamps made a LOT of funny stamps (also nice ones) but I think they are out of business. Can't find them online.

lisa1022s 08-12-2006 03:57 PM

I love this stamp. It is so true.

craftybee 08-12-2006 04:18 PM

Who told them they could use my likeness for a stamp? I would love to find one like this too.

janny3 08-15-2006 01:04 AM

Sorry, can't help you, but great stamp - love it!

stampmouse 08-16-2006 07:13 PM

weird with what 80.000 stampers here that no one recognizes this stamp.

deca1964 09-02-2006 05:25 PM

hey is this stamping lady still a mystery? Or did we end up finding out who she is?

I think we are still trying to figure it out.

GarnetJ 09-03-2006 03:06 PM

She still remains anonymous. I sent email to a few stamp companies that had other cartoon ladies. But all came back with the same answer -- "She doesn't belong to us."

BTW, If anyone would like me to stamp her (in black ink on white cardstock) and send it to you, I would be glad to do that.
All I ask in return is a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.... just kidding. Really I have been blessed by lots of gals who have sent images to me. I would be more than happy to send this one to you.

stampmouse 09-06-2006 08:29 PM

i pm'd you sure hope that someday we can figure this one out

GarnetJ 09-07-2006 06:34 PM

Hi Laura... Just got your PM. (I've been at church most of the day -- giving away used clothing.) I'll stamp some images tonight and put them in the mail in the morning.

diane617 09-07-2006 06:51 PM

I've seen boots like that on some Stamps by Judith. Could that be where she was born?

You may be right. She does look very similar to the ladies on the web site. Since they do not have an online catalog, I'll try to find an email address and ask them directly.
