distressed ink

I see it used all the time here,some really beautiful cards,
but still don't know or understand what it really is.
What is the difference between a reg. ink pad and a distressed
ink pad. Would you say that it is something good to buy, do you
use it alot?

LOVE the distress inks....in fact I just got all the NEW colors (there goes the floor gettning mopped!!)

Distress inks stay wet longer so they can be used for embossing too. They also hold their true colors when doing such techniques as Wrinkle free distress (in the resource section). They have a smooth texture which makes blending them WONDERFUL!!

I'm linking T!m Holtz's video demo section so that you can see what these inks can do. But, really, you MUST give them a try. I hardly ever reach for my SU inks anymore. That's how much I LOVE the distress inks

do all those things with his distressed ink pads.

Glenda.....The distressed inks are nice to use as they are not the "matchy-matchy" inks that other companies put out. They can also have a slight variation in color as you stamp with them.

I will also agree with what Star says in her post below.

Try them along with the distressed embossing powders for a rather different look and texture.

They are also made to react/bleed with water but still keep their color with no fading so that opens up possibilities for different techniques.

So many great things to say about these inks! Buy a few and you can learn many new techniques.
