is there a specific aqua pen you favor? going to try the pearl ex project and voila need to buy a pen... do these pens leak/ is there a trick to using them? brand new to these so any help would be appreciated!
:-D jan
The SU! aqua pens are the BEST. I've used others and there is no comparison. The SU! one does not leak water and is very easy to control. I found that other brands were impossible to control the water flow and I ended up throwing them out. You pay a little more for the SU! ones, but they are definitely the best, imho. Well worth the extra money.

I have to agree. Got a "deal" on a 3 pack of "Aqua-Flo" pens - hate 'em!! The plastic casing is very hard, so whenever I push for a little water, I get LOTS of water because I push too hard. SU's really are the best. After that, ZIG brand is pretty good too.

Niji brand at micheal's is the one I prefer, not too wet, there was a discussion on the different brands of aqua painters, put in a seach for aqua painters and you will find more then you ever wanted to know..lol

I use the Niji brand too 'cause that's what TAC sells and I love it. I also have the 3 pack "bargain" because that's what I started out with. I'm seriously thinking of using those for this project because I hate to ruin a good aqua pen...I'm "hoping" the flow will be slower because it's thicker fluid!
I use one that I bought at Joann's and another local department store and they work fine for me. The trick is not to squeeze to hard to release water. I use a near dry brush for pad ink and just a little more for watercolor crayons. Slight squeeze is the answer and I do mean slight!
I don't think I've ever tried what your looking for one for but I did use H2o's or something like that on a borrow basis and I preferred the paint brush for that. Mainly because she told me that's what she used.
I would love to try a SU aqua painter myself but I don't have a regular demo. I order from those far away in most cases. I would feel it a waste of money to order it and then have it be no better than what I use - if what I use is working for me. Hope that makes sense...I get it!
