Digital Photo Developing-where do you get yours done?

Hi all,
I have a ton of digital pictures on my computer that I need to have printed somewhere. Where have you gotten yours done and been happy with them?
Thanks!!
Brenda

I have mine developed at www.winkflash.com Regular 4x6 prints are .12 apiece and shipping is .99, no matter how many pics you get developed. Once in a while, I've heard people were unhappy with this company, but I have to say, I've had nothing but good luck with them so far.

I love www.snapfish.com

They are awesome!

Str8Fan 07-05-2006 01:53 PM

I have worked with shutterfly.com and snapfish.com. I much prefer snapfish.com. I've never been disappointed with them.

laurakj 07-05-2006 01:55 PM

Wal-Mart! I love the matte finish :)

I have dial-up so I can't upload all my pics for any online place, so I go to Wal-Mart, drop them off before I start my shopping and pick them up when I'm done. Love it!

3girl'smom 07-05-2006 02:01 PM

I download all my pics right from home to Walgreens and pick them up in about an hour at the Walgreens right down the street. 19 cents a print everyday online. (29 cents when you bring in your card to the store!) Same quality as their one hour service.

etsdas 07-05-2006 02:08 PM

I don't have many done but have been happy with snapfish.com
I have not done much in the way of comparison. What I do like is that I can send our digital photos (through cyberspace!!) and they store them - I feel that is one more bit of insurance in case the computer crashes. We go on cruises with friends - they can then view our pics and order if they are so inclined.

kphorse 07-05-2006 02:09 PM

I have a stand alone HP photo printer so I do most of my own. If I want to send them out to have them done, I use SnapFish. They are great and the cost is good!

I love Snapfish! You can get matte finishing, as well as glossy (I prefer matte). Not too many places offer that. In addition, they offer you the option of "cropping" your photo(s) to slightly smaller than 4x6, which is great for scrapbooking and getting a better fit on 12x12 pages. Consumer Reports recently ranked these types of services and I think their number 1 choice was Target.

I just wanted to add that Consumer Reports liked Snapfish, but gave better marks to Target (I think for photo quality).

MommaJ 07-05-2006 02:42 PM

I get mine done at costco, have been happy w/them!!

Dyu 07-05-2006 02:42 PM

Add my vote for Walgreens online. I just had over 200 printed & loved them!

kraftkris 07-05-2006 02:57 PM

Wal-Mart for me, too! I just upload them to Wal-Mart from home or work and pick thme up in an hour. I have also done this but had them sent to me at home when I didnt need them in a hurry, soooooooooooo easy!

[email protected] 07-05-2006 03:18 PM

I love Snapfish. I have tried others and I was not happy with the quality. they do a great job and very fast at shipping. Good luck.

11Valerie11 07-05-2006 03:26 PM

I use Costco. Super quick, one hour is usually more like 20 minutes, and very close to my home.

craftybee 07-05-2006 03:40 PM

I print my own at home. Have a great HP printer. That way I can crop or improve the quality myself. I get free photo paper with my ink refills so the only cost is the ink.

www.scrapbookpictures.com

I have tried a few places and let me tell you... these people are amazing!

Skittl1321 07-05-2006 03:45 PM

i check this one too... it is great what they offer you. all kinds of neat stuff!!! i love the writing you can do into your pic.... but they are a bit pricy

munhaven 07-05-2006 04:54 PM

I use www.yorkphoto.com and have been happy with the results. If I order on Sunday I usually have them by Friday. Right now their having a sale on prints - $.08 each for up to 100 4x6 prints. Shipping is extra. The code for that is YSUMMER2A. PM me your email address and I'll send an invitation to you and we can both get free prints.

stampininthesun 07-05-2006 04:58 PM

I use Shutterfly.com....love them!

HoosierGirl 07-05-2006 05:02 PM

I upload to Walmart if I'm in a hurry. I select one-hour developing for whichever store I'm going to be near. Otherwise I use Winkflash. I like the quality and the pricing. Shipping is only 99 cents. The last time I got pictures from Winkflash, the actual postage was more than what I paid for prints - still charged just 99 cents!

stillstampin 07-05-2006 05:10 PM

I use Walgreens and the first time you order via the Internet, they give you 20 prints free and the rest are 19 cents each.

AmorA 07-05-2006 05:36 PM

I've never used any online developing, but when I do (eventually) I'll use winkflash.com because I've heard such good things about them.

Just in case you want to use winkflash.com also, you might be interested in this promo for 50 free prints:

vdoyle8 07-05-2006 05:51 PM

I use KodakGallery.com I can upload huge bunches of photos (I've done as many as 150 at a time) easily. I then have them shipped to a supermarket near my house and the shipping is only 1.49. I get them in about 2 days. The quality is wonderful - I've never had a problem. I just love them!

llevans 07-05-2006 06:11 PM

I have always had good luck with www.ofoto.com - they are always running specials on shipping, pricing, etc.

backhome 07-05-2006 06:35 PM

I love my Ritz Camera Store developing...They do a great job, and i love having my prepaid card to keep me on budget, and then getting a discount coupon for my enlargements- those different sizes of pictures make my pages look better. I got 300 4 x 6 for $50. They are also adding a 6x 6 print that prints what you see in your camera, without losing anything to format changes from different cameras...i never had a problem, but it might matter to some other folks....

kerrym38 07-05-2006 07:16 PM

I use shutterfly.com. 19 cents a print.

danssister 07-05-2006 08:30 PM

I upload my pics to Walgreens, too, for 19 cents/print. I love the quality, and that I can upload them and pick them up anytime, especially since they're just around the corner from me. :) HTH

colo 07-05-2006 08:37 PM

I agree with all of the snapfish.com posts! I love them! They also fix red-eye on pictures you upload and then order...I love the fact that you can also invite friends and family to view your albums and then they can order pictures if they want! LOVE THEM!

SkyesMom 07-05-2006 08:55 PM

snapfish is .12 cents and print. They have alot of different sizes for really cheap too.

lindenfan1 07-05-2006 09:00 PM

Just my regular 4x6's I get done at Costco - order online and they are ready for pickup the next day - and only $.15 even up here in Canada (you can choose glossy or matte, border or no border)...

Snapfish for me too!

malindaplace 07-06-2006 12:19 AM

I use CM Photo Center at Creative Memories. They've been excellent.

Knutsen24 07-06-2006 07:32 AM

I use www.york.com it's only $.10 a print

*pamster* 07-06-2006 08:57 AM

Winkflash for me, too! they have bar none the best prices, they're fast, and the quality is excellent. I've used Costco, Snapfish, Kodak, and Ofoto and I think quality wise they're all pretty on par with each other, so for me it's price, and winkflash beats them all.

mindycm 07-17-2006 04:18 PM

Sam's 1 hour - love it! I don't like the 2 day service or mail order. The finish is different.

msdetloff 07-17-2006 05:50 PM

I do Sams as well...they will mail them out for you or we send the images to my parents sams and they will develop them there and then thye can pick them up...and we can pay in advance as well.

Mindy

lordagrl 07-17-2006 06:15 PM

Love Winkflash... so cheap and great prints. You can order whatever sizes like wallets ect. Even I can do the ordering because it is so so simple and user friendly... HTH

JustStarting2Stamp 07-17-2006 08:17 PM

I usually upload mine to Wal-Mart (because I like the matte finish) and then I pick them up in an hour.
I will say though that although I have never ordered prints from Shutterfly.com, I have ordered several gifts from there (such as calendars and photo books) and the quality is beautiful!!

Another vote for Walgreens!! Ok, ok--it kinda helps that DH is a manager at our local store!!!:D
I love all the editing you can do online, too. Our store's two photo kiosks are always busy!!

annabelle1974 08-14-2006 11:04 AM

We have gone to printing our own and get far better results than having someone else do it. It is so very simple if you buy a standalone. Takes about 11 seconds and 27 cents a picture to do it right at home. We paid $79 for a Canon Selphy DS810 at Staples. We love it!

willosmama 08-14-2006 11:12 AM

Costco. I think it's about .017 a print.

newbie007 08-14-2006 12:43 PM

I have uploaded my digital pictures to Walmart. Basic editing, cropping, and special features like word bubbles can be added. However, I have found that I have to check each picture (as they 4x6 which is slightly smaller than the digital picture from my camera) to make sure that none of the picture that I want is cropped off. Sometimes Walmart has specials per print and I have seen it as low as $0.12

I have also used Costco for my film camera (I don't take my digital camping). They have a good deal where you can get prints and a CD with your pics on it. I think I paid about $21.00 to devlop 3 rolls - prints and a CD (35 mm -24 pics).

I have also uploaded pictures to Black's (photo store in Ontario). The quality was excellant, but they were more expensive. I have also printed some at home on my HP photoprinter. Great pictures but the ink is expensive. I think it is cheaper to send them out when I have a lot to do.

jendo1 08-14-2006 12:59 PM

I love Winkflash. I've used Shutterfly, Kodak Gallery (formerly Ofoto), and Snapfish, but Winkflash has the best deals.

anniesmom 08-15-2006 05:58 AM

I love scrapbookpictures.com. They have so many neat features you can have printed on your photo and I love their quality. They are a bit pricier but I use them mainly for my "special" photos.

I have also used Sam's CLub with good results.
