what is a digistamp?

Digital. Downloadable. You go to the website and pay to download a set. Then you can print the image directly from your computer to cardstock. I haven't actually tried them yet. Just happened to see the Worldwide website because she posted on Splitcosst for design team members.

It's basically an image that looks like it's been stamped that you can print off of your computer and color. Think kind of clip art or coloring page. They are great when it comes to storage space.

I have an inkjet printer and was worried about the ink with Copics but I'm happy to say the Copics were just fine! I'm loving the new Geisha Anya over at The Greeting Farm.

would this be the same as using clip art from pccrafter or somewhere similar???...just printing in line art form???... I have loads of graphics....that's what I collected before stamps...

Yeah, I think they are images that you would want to print on white so you could color them somehow. I tried one with gamsol and prismas and it worked great too. I actually used a coloring page clip art that I found on google for free.

I have ordered some over at All That Scraps. Love them! I just bought the Velentine one yesterday. Haven't have time to play with that one yet as I was busy designing some cards using a new digi stamp set released tonight at All That Scraps. It is called Encouraging Verses. I made some nice cards (at least I think so!) in the last few days and really like the digi stamps. I still love love love my rubber and wouldn't trade it for the world, but digi stamps are a nice option for when I want a stamp NOW and don't want to wait for it to get to Canada!

oh i love the greeting farm i bought the 3 anyas and i cant stop making cards with them i did order the rubber waiting for them to come in ...

Question for OP mokkabella. What is cc designs? I tried googling but it came up with too many. One of the choices is C.C Designs. Another is Cunning Crow Designs.

Do you have to have any special software to alter the size of the digi downloads? Allthatscraps sent me a test image but it was so big..filled an 8x11 sheet of cardstock.

OK I am computer illiterate so tell me....how do I store the digidownloads in case my computer crashes. The last time mine crashed I lost everything. If I paid for these downloads I would be very upset to lose them. Would I store them to a disk?

You should be able to resize them in any photo editing program (always smaller, resizing bigger may reduce the quality of the print). I think you may even be able to do it MS Word. Yes you should backup everything on your computer to disk, just in case.

for my anya ones they came out huge too i had to reize for an a6 card.

This thread is more enthusiastic about digital stamps than another SCS poll that ran within the last week. The results from the poll "Would you buy digital images for card making?" are currently running about 77% preferring actual stamps over 23% for digital downloads. Maybe that's to be expected, since it was asked in a stamping forum, but it's nice to see the interest in this thread for digital. As more people learn how to handle the downloads, digi-stamps are bound to become more popular.

yes...you can print on white but could also print on color CS and use prisma color pencils to color in...and dont forget you could print the image on patterned papers and paper piece....

I think it depends on your printer ink and paper you choose. I'll test mine later and see what happens (my printer does use pigment ink though, most use dye ink)

ok, right out of the printer and heat set - water makes the ink run - I have a Krylon spray that I'll test tomorrow.

I have some friends that are more "computer challenged" than I am and they LOVED my digital images (on a card!) UNTIL they found out that it was "a computer thing". Then I showed them how they could print them out with the Windows Picture and Fax viewer in many different sizes without having to "resize" anything. They REALLY liked that! So now they are on the digital download bandwagon......it was the CCDesigns ones from ATS that got them hooked, but little bear/snowman set, Gingersnaps, etc. I think it makes a nice addition to my cardmaking. I've only colored them with Copics/SU! Markers on PTI White, so I can only attest that I haven't had any smearing doing it that way. I know that colored pencils ALONE would work (not with Gamsol) and so would chalks. They are just TOO cute for words!

Spray the image with Krylon Preserve It! I just tried this and it works, I printed out an image - black line art - sprayed it lightly, waited 30 minutes and brushed water over it, the ink did not run. So if you want to do watercolors (I tried it with watercolor pencils and water to blend) it works great!

i still like my rubber anya are my first.. still learning with the ink smudging a bit when colouring,,

but something new for me is now addictive lol

I don't know what kind of printer ink it is (dye or pigment....I'm guessing dye since my printer is an old HP DeskJet) but I didn't use Preserve It first. Just printed it, let it dry overnight and went from there.

This is a free font site (well, mostly free-some have a small charge)...they have a whole section of dingbats that you could download and use (just change the size by changing the size of the font).

My printer uses pigment inks (Epson R1800), I printed the item, let it dry, then sprayed the preserve it on top. I *think* the markers would be ok without the preserve it, it's just the water that causes the ink to run.

Just started using digistamps lately and heat setting your printed imaged with a heat gun will also make it so that the ink doesn't run. I've used watercolors and COPICs with my printed images so far and it works great and very little drying time!

I need some clarification....
I understand digiscrapping, tho' I am a traditionalist at heart, still working with actual photos and patterned papers, and dies.
So in the same vein, are digstamps the same (or different) as clipart (as pccrafter or djinkers), print black line image, and color?
