Difference between CTMH and TAC stamps

My question is "Are these the same type of stamps?" I see that with CTMH they just have the stamps and the acrylic blocks, but TAC also has something called "creative cling" (I think). I'm just wondering what this is and what the difference is between the 2 companies stamps. I've only used wood mounted stamps so far, so this is all new to me!

CTMH stamps are clear acrylic with no foam. You use them on the acrylic block. I've heard some people say they love them because they are clear, but then I've heard a good number say that they triedthem & didn't think they stamped as well as rubber.

TAC stamps are vulcanized rubber just like wood mount stamps, but you use the creative cling on the back to temporarily stick it on an acrylic block to stamp with it. The cling is glue sticky on one side & static sticky on the other. It is foam so you stick it to the rubber die(stamp) and then when you are ready to use it you stick it to the block.

Hi Carla:
Speaking for TAC we use creative cling it is like a gray foam with cling on one side for your stamps and then the other side clings to your clear block ...most of us store in cd cases.
As for CTMH which I have a few they are just clear and stick to a clear block also ....
prices for TAC are very nice and storage is great ...very easy to mount.
CTMH I've notices also come in a nice envelope and stick on a clear piece of sheet for storage in these envelopes.

The CTMH stamps don't require any type of cling. They're sticky on the back and stick to the block. They're clear acrylic.

The TAC sets are rubber and you do need something to make them stick to the block.

As someone who has used and owns both, I would say the CTMH stamp just as well as TAC if they are prepared correctly, you need to take an eraser and erase the front of the CTMH stamps before using them, just like any other clear stamps. They both stick the same also. So really it is a matter of taste, and also the TAC stamps are a bit less expensive.

I own and use both.

I own about 12 sets of CTMH and well over 50 sets of TAC. I was really excited about CTMH at first, but unless its an image I just cant live without, I dont know if Ill purchase more. I just hate how much they stain and, IMHO, take more to get a clean image.

Now, TAC, I am SO in love with. I just cant get enough of their stamps. Ive never had any problems. And they are so cost effective compared to other stamp companies.

To be honest, I highly recommend investing in one set from both and see how you like them. Youll never know until you try.

I'm biased....

But I love the TAC stamps to little bits (just as much as the SU stamps!!!)

And I wasn't the hugest fan of CTMH because they just seemed to stamp 'lighter' than the rest (even after using an eraser on them)...and did not clean as well. JMO. ;)

The trick to getting a crisper image with CTMH is to place the foam piece under your project when you stamp, especially with the larger stamps. The nice thing about CTMH is that they are clear and if your project is inked unevenly then you can go back and see exactly where you need to line up the stamp

But, as Palapala has already said invest in both and make your own determination

I agree, I have never had problems with my CTMH images, but I always use the foam.

I also have both and love both, I think the biggest difference is that CTMH is clear, and that does make staining more evident but it makes positioning so much easier!!

Our Stamps are made of Rubber with a Cling Foam Backing. And you use a Acrylic Block instead of a wood block.

Our stamps are deeply etched much like SU stamps. They come on a sheet of Rubber.
Plus our Stamps are Blue Rubber.

Personally, I own both and choose to use CTMH over TAC. I like being able to SEE THRU the stamp on the block and I don't like having to cut the foam sheet to go with TAC. I don't mount my SU! stamps either and would love it if they were clear. No problems here with getting a clean image from CTMH and I find that the TAC stamps are bit thinner than SU!

It's personal preference. You'll have to try both, but as to staining, it makes it easier to see the CTMH stamps and doesn't affect the image in the least. Plus, I think SU!, CTMH and TAC all have a different style of stamp and TAC seems really cartoonish to me. That isn't my style which is probably why I own the fewest of them. However, their words stamps are some of my faves! I like being able to get more Christian based word sets and have many of those.

Check 'em all out and use what you like best.

When I started cardmaking 7 months ago. I started using CTMH and love the way you can see though them and the letters are easy to line up for writing words. The only things I don't like, they don' t have alot of saying like SU does. I just started using SU this month and I love using both. Never tried TAC products.

Ginger, I have to agree with you, the one thing I wish we had a little more of is quotes and sayings and such!
