Question What do those letters mean?!?

I enjoy reading the forums, but sometimes I don't know what the abbreviations mean. :confused: Does any one have a list. Just today I came across:

ATC
CAS
DP
DSP
IWAG
LSS
OS
VSN

There are more that I can't think of at the moment. Can anyone translate?

DP is designer paper (same as DSP -- I think the latter is a Stampin Up "term for designer paper or pattern(ed) paper AKA PP which you also might se"e...)

CAS - a term beloved to me -- Clean and Simple -- Here's the description I saved years ago from another thread:

"What is CAS?
CAS is an acronym for Clean and Simple.

It's all about the design.
* not the technique
* not the tools
* not the embellishments

It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point

It's all about the design."

If you want to see examples of CAS in action, check out the Monday CAS challenges and go to the keyword for that week or just search in the galleries for the keyword CAS and you will find tons!

VSN is Virtual Stamp Night...an online stamping event which takes place three times a year. The forum for it is here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers

I only know OS as operating system, I haven't a clue what it is in card-making terms.

LSS is your local scrapbooking/stamping store, bricks and mortar as opposed to online.

DSP is used in two ways - I was taught at an LSS (Local Stamp Shop ) that it meant Double Sided Paper. Stampin’ Up uses it to mean Designer Series Paper.

That “Start Here” section on the forum includes that long list of acronyms and other useful info too: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
