Default demo starter kit question

thinking about signing up to be a demo with SU, especially with the sweet deal new promotion that is now on, but just wondering, what else is in the start up kit and what if you already own supplies in the kit, is SU willing to substitute?
thanks for your help/replies

As far as stamp sets, you can substitute for stamp sets of the same value or less. For example, if it recommends a $11.95 set you can swap it out for a different stamp set which is $11.95 or less. Stamp pads and cardstock recommendations can be swapped evenly too. As far as other accessories, no you can't substitute. For example, I already had the Stampin' Pastels and couldn't substitute for something equivalent.

You can see the starter kit contents on the Stampin' Up! website. Also, be sure to ask your potential upline for specifics.

I substituted most of the stamp sets they suggested, and it wasn't a problem. I tried to chose sets though that I would be able to demo in various ways.
At first I thought I would not need half the things in the Starter Kit, but I loved everything in it, pastels and scissors and all. There were also a lot of business materials in there that explained everything. They do make it easy to get started. Apart from the Starter Kit, you'll also receive SU!'s awesome monthly magazine that I have found to be a great help and inspiration.

I think the recruiting promotion is great - you won't be sorry you signed up.

You can't substitute anything but the cardstock colors, sets and ink (which is above and beyond what most companies allow) but my demo did advise me to hang on to the things I didn't need, like a second Versamark pad, and use them for door prizes and gifts. It was great advice! you could hold a Stamp A Stack or something and have a fabulous drawing for free item that would normally be out of your price range to afford as a business expense. Or sometimes (like the black pad) it's just a great idea to have two of something, if you do a lot of classes or events.
Go for it... you won't regret it! I thought I would drop after the first quarter, but it was so much fun and the products just sold themselves. Here I am almost 18 months later and I hope I never have to quit!

I picked out a lot of different sets and ink pad colors when I chose my kit. I did get some duplicate supplies, like the scrub pad and mist, black ink, versamark, etc and they sure come in handy! I do lots of workshops and classes, and not everyone likes to share or wait their turn. I am sure you will find uses for anything duplicated that you get.

I love being a demo, its a great way to have fun and meet new people! Good luck!!

Another thought...if you have an item already that you can't substitute on the Starter kit, you can always try and trade it on the BST forum. someone out there might be in need of that very item!
