Default Demo Kit

Well, I've been perusing the new catty online to see what I'd like in my starter kit and these are the sets I've chosen :

Snowflake Spot
Be Happy
Bodacious Bouquet
Perennial Favorites
Simple Wishes
Happy Winter

Do these seem like a well rounded starter? I'm going to begin a 10 for 10 in the fall and wanted to get things that were a little more Christmas'ish, but not only Christmas. I already have IBB, and Heartfelt Thanks and don't want Loads of Love. I really want to stick with only the new sets (for the most part). So, what's your thoughts?

I'm not completely familar with all the new set names yet. But, I think it's good to have some stamps that are 2-step, some that are bold (that you would stamp in color) and some that are line-art (that you would stamp in black or brown and then color them in). Hope that helps a little.

I'm planning on mailing my demo application tomorrow. (I'm so excited!) Anyway, here are the sets I chose: Looks Like Spring, Nice & Easy Notes, Be Happy, Fresh Fillers, Symbols of Solicitude (I'd been looking everywhere for the Chinese symbol for Joy), & Perennial Favorites. I, too, wanted to mostly get sets new to this catalog. I also really like Snowflake Spot.

What's most important is that you love your new stamps! Plus you will have some wonderful opportunities to earn so many free sets with the new Stampin' Start program! (up to nine sets in your first 6 months!)

Enjoy you Starter Kit! It's so fun to get that in the mail!

I agree; it's really important to LOVE the stamps you get! That said, I just really want to stress that you try to cover all the different styles SU offers. When you look at their choices, you'll notice that there are 2-step sets, coloring sets, sets with matching wheel...kwim? Try to choose your sets so you have the same balance. You will have better luck, I think, duplicating cards when you have all the types necessary. Especially since you'll be getting inspiration sheets that match SU's choices -- they don't change those.

Do demo's keep their personal sets seperate from business ones? I have several 2-step sets (Heartfelt and Petal Prints), a bunch of U-Colour ones, matching wheels, etc. I was just wondering about new sets in the catty. I have a fair number of the sets from the previous IB&C and was just trying to predict what's great!

Thanks for all the info!

I don't. Well, I do keep the SU out and the non-SU put away, lol. Other than that, I just tend to keep the retired sets in a different spot so I don't inadvertently grab one to demo.

I love Porsche's expression, with the eyes closed. You got that picture at a fun angle, too.

Yep, that's my Grace avatar. She managed to get herself on top of kitchen cabinets and was starting to think about how she was going to get down. She and her sister/litter-mate are napping beside me right now.
