Default Sets to add to the ole stamp collection!

I'm a SU customer and want to add 'must have' sets to my collection in January.

So far, for a gift 'set' of cards, I rely on vintage postcard and gentler times BUT am totally bored with them. I don't have any 'word' or 'saying' type sets.

I was thinking about buying All the Best (and bundle up...can't resist).

As stamping goddesses, I trust your judgement!

Thanks so much!

I think a lot of people would vote for All Natural...lots you can do with that one. All the Best is nice if you like retro. And for all other purposes, Lovely as a Tree is one you simply can't go wrong with!

I'll agree with Jan - All Natural probably the best bet for the money. If you want to spend a little bit more, consider Watercolor Garden. There's SO much you can with that set! WC II is good too, but WCI is more versatile, esp since it has a sentiment.

For sentiments, you might want to look at Simple Sayings II (my first sentiment set).

Hope this helps! Be sure to look at the Gallery to see what you can do with all these stamps!

I'd say about half the catalog consists of 'must have' sets! Gotta agree with All Natural tho.

I would say that Wonderful Words is a great word set. I think it looks great with any other set and is just gorgeous!

As for the other "can't live without's" I would go with Lovely As A Tree, Roses in Winter, Shapes and Shadows and Simple Sketches.

Of course, everyone has different tastes, but I hope that helps a little!

I just ordered Shapes and Shadows from the wonderful variety of uses I saw in the gallery. I also have the indispensible Wonderful Words. All Natural is the next set on my list.

I am a new stamper and spent hours on SCS to determine "must have" sets. All the people here will inspire you. I have been thrilled with some of my first picks. All Natural is very versatile for year round, I also love my Wonderful Words and have gotten many compliments on those words. I aslo bought Watercolor Garden and agree it has more versatility due to the different types of flower and sentiment. That's just my experience as a real newbie.
