Cuttlebug, Cricut, Big Shot....Help!

If you were going to buy one, which one would you get and why? Money is no object.

I do not know a thing about any of these, and I'm interested in learning.

Don't panic! Look in the Tool & Product Talk forum (also under the Stamping Stuff forum secion) for oodles of info and comparisons.

Well, if it's between the cuttlebug and big shot, I would get the big shot because it is bigger and should stand up longer.

Between the "manual" die cut machines like the big shot and cuttlebug and the cricut, you need to decide what types of materials you want to cut (big shot and cuttlebug you can cut felt, fabric, leather, lightweight metal, etc.) but you can only cut one size of letter or shape from the die. You can also dry emboss using embossing folders. The cricut you are more limited in the types of materials you can cut, but you can adjust the size, do shadowing and other effects, and even "weld" words and shapes together with software.

Personally I have both! =)

I only have the cricut, but I absolutely love it! I have been looking at the cuttlebug.

I have a bug. Only machine I've had so far. I've even broken it. Provo-craft is sending me a new one.

I'm thinking of getting a Slice ... but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

I have the Cuttlebug and the Cricut Expressions. I love them both equally could not live without either... They each have their own use. I use my CB on just about every card in some way or another. My CE doesn't get used as often but when I need it I need it, know what I mean? So I guess my answer is to get the CuttleBug AND The Cricut . When shopping for a Cricut try Craigslist.org I bought my CE on there new in box never opened for $120!! I know this was a steal but I see new posts almost daily for Cricuts at amazing prices!! I sure hope my ramblings help a bit

I have the Big Shot and Cricut Expressions. I recommend both. I like the Big Shot better because it handles larger dies, but it is also heavier and handles better. My girlfriend has the CB and she wishes she had the Big Shot instead. Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide on.

I have and use my BIGkick (same thing as the Big Shot). I feel either of these machines are strudier than the Cuttlebug and also will take any dies without any kind of "special arrangements".

I have an original Cricut, but that can do things that no non-electric die cutting machine can do. I use it for different parts of my card making.

I have a Cuttlebug and the original Sizzix, but don't use them anymore.

I have the BigKick, Cuttlebug and a SideKick. Between the 3, the BigKick will last the longest and takes larger thing the Cuttlebug can't or ones that strain it!

I have been thinking about getting an electronic cutter, but have not made up my mind as yet if I will.

I also had an original Sizzix and used the Wizard, the BigKick is my favorite!

I have the Cricut and the cuttlebug. I love my cricut as it can cut all kinds
of things and do layers without having to hook it to a computer. You do
have to buy cartridges but each one has dozens of different ways to use
each font or design. If you get a design studio with it you can put things
together from different cartridges all at the same time, you can weld letters
together also.
The cuttlebug, I love because all the embossing folders are so inexpensive.
It cuts and embosses. The folders are only 4.99 and I always use 50 or 40% coupons with them. I've had mine a couple of years and it still works
great. They have some really neat embosing folders and some have die cuts
with them. Such as flowers and then a die for 4 or 5 different words to put
with your embossed flower I have seen the big shot, but it is more expensive and the dies are more expensive. Anyway that is my opinion.
I watched a demo of the big shot at scrapbookusa and I guess it is wider
but I haven't found anything wider than the cuttlebug that I wanted to put
thru and then when I looked at the prices of the die cuts and embossing
folders I figured that it was too expensive for me all the way around.
