Question CTMH vs TAC

I have been thinking of spreading my wings and trying another company's stamps other than SU. I currently use only SU stamps (okay, I have bought lots of Bellas though), cs, dp and ink. Honestly, I am afraid of buying stamps with poor images. I love how crisp and clear SU's images come out.

Are one company's quality of images better than the another? Is it just personal preference and style? There are both demos available to me locally so that would not be an issue. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Most of it is preference. The images for both are great. TAC is unmounted rubber and CTMH is Polymer or better known as clear acrylic stamps. I would say that since you do have local demos that you find out if they do workshops and go to them so you can try out the different supplies. That way you will know what is best for you.

I agree with stampingwithkids, find a local demo and see if they do workshops. That way you will know for sure if you like TAC and CTMH

It all boils down to a matter of personal preference. You got good advice, try both to see what you like. See what images appeal to you, try stampin with some of each..... You can get good images with either from what I've understood. Good luck!

Let us know the outcome!

get both! I love TAC (and I'm a demo!), BUT I also love clear stamps. I haven't tried CTMH yet, though I would like to at some point.

Here is my input on T.A.C. Stamps. They are made out of Blue Rubber, (like SU stamps) Our stamps are on a Full Sheet of Rubber and come with a full Sheet of Creative Cling foam (Ez-mount foam)

They use a Acrylic Block instead of Wood block.

Easy storage, I store mine in CD cases (Jewel Old style) They are thicker.

They cost less.

Our stamps are deeply etched rubber stamps and leave good images.

I have been purchasing T.A.C. since 2002 and I still have my very first stamp set. it still stamps as good as it did the day I purchased it.

My personal taste is Rubber Stamps. I have tired the Clear stamps and I Just don't like the feel of them. I still use them from time to time.

But as other's have said it's depends on your personal taste.

I buy from all TAC, SU and CTMH. Like them all for different reasons.

Hi there!
I like SU stamps and CTMH stamps. The clear stamps have the advantage of being able to see where you are placing them and the rubber stamps can in some cases leave a crisper image. Both companies are great!

I like them all! You may be getting yourself into trouble......venturing out of SU! I do prefer the crispness of rubber stamping. I like the ease of seeing with the clear, but the real winner for me is the IMAGE...the set, the stamp, the picture or whatever you want to call it. If the image or set is something that I want, like, need, etc.......I don't care if it is clear acrylic or rubber.....I make it work for me! I don't care for foam and only out of pure despiration would I buy it!

For several years I thought I would never buy anything other than SU. Then I discovered TAC while poking around on this forum. About 3 months later, I turned in my demo papers for TAC. Now I love TAC and SU!

Nobody's gonna know better than you which you like better. And, really, unless you plan on going the demo route, what does it matter? Use both! Or all three, lol! SU still introduces new images all the time. It's a big, wide world of stamps out there...go out and play!

I totally agree with this, only you will know best which one you prefer. Contact demos for both in your area and see if you can attend a workshop.

Thanks for your advice! I am going to place an order with both. I really like CTMH for their alphabets because it is so much easier to see to line it up. Plus TAC has some really cute sets too! I think that you guys may end up being right ... I'm in trouble by venturing out of SU!!
