Default Crystal Light Containers?

Okay, so I joined Weight Watchers about 3 weeks ago and I've been drinking *a lot* of Crystal Light ever since. I've gone through about 2 small containers and one large between home and work. I keep looking at these sturdy cylinder containers knowing that they hold some sort of untapped potential, but I just can't wrap my head around it. Have any of you altered these with any sucess? If so, what did you use them for? All I can think of right now is a piggy bank/coin container thingy, but I am really hoping for something that adults could use. Any ideas?

Look in the gallery, there might be something in there! I know that there was something in there with milk cartons, but I don't recall anything with crystal light containers. Good luck! Wanna see something posted when you make something!

Oh, and I'm talking about the containers like seen here: http://www.sugarlessshop.com/2000/images/KF3.jpg. When you pull off the wrapper, the plastic is a frosty white/clear.

There are several in the gallery; you have to wade thru - the one was set up for a gift - really cute with ribbon for the handle. I think it was a teacher gift for valentines day. I have 2 on my table now awaiting me to alter them into "something".

I've heard of some demos using them to store their wheels in. Stamp/wheel a piece of copier paper with each wheel you put in there.

I've also "pictured" them decorated with Designer Series paper and filled with paper flowers, like a vase. Though I haven't gotten around to making one yet! LOL

ooooh, good ideas everyone!

I've seen some decorated in the gallery before, but if I can recall correctly, the only one that listed what it was used for was a pencil cup. The others were just decorated with no description, so I wasn't sure what was placed inside. I'll go take another look though, maybe there are some new ideas!

I do catalog survival kits.

Of course decorate the out side. Leave a container of Crystal Light in, a couple of bendie straws, a small package of post-it-notes (decorated), a mini RSVP pen to match, a couple of the altered paperclips and a business card.

I had a customer love it so much that she booked a party just so she could get one.

I had a DDSS ~ hi Leslie ~ who *loved* Crystal Light. I bought her some Crystal Light and alterned the can with a one-sheet wonder, stuck an address label on it, postage and dropped it in the mail.

So use if for cute, mailable wrapping.

*Great* idea! I never would have thought to throw it in the mail, but I bet it would be perfect!

And, since my brain is now churning, I tried putting a gift card in, and it works! I think it would be the perfect wrapping container if you put a gift card and some candy into it for a birthday or other gift!

I use one that I made for my stampin' essentials (utensils!). I keep my gel pen, black marker, stardust pen, aquapainter, stylus, paper snips, etc in there for quick access when I'm stampin'!

Great! So now I have to start saving my Crystal Light containers too! Off to make a spot to store them in my basement; next to the million other things I will never embellish!

I love the thought of covering them and using them as a hostess gift of some sort.. put a stamp, some ribbon samples, eyelets.. etc in there.

too bad I don't drink crystal light!!!

my up up up line uses them to put her wwc on the table for workshops.
She puts a small glue dot on the wwc and attaches them upside down around the outside of the container, this way the customers use the aqua painter on the flat end of the crayon and they don't have to handle them so less breakage. Only the colors they need are on the table.

Haven't read all the replies so someone may have already suggested it, but how covering it in designer paper and then use it as a container to package little cookies or other little treats for a gift?

I had a Western theme birthday party for my DD last year and converted these into "canteens" for them to drink from....came out darling. Probably not what your thinking of but there is potential for a ton of ideas! One of my DL made these into frankenstein heads for Halloween candy...

I got this idea from a post somewhere on here several months back, so sorry I don't remember who posted it. I now use those containers to put the regular Stampin' Around wheels in. You can fit three (I think) to a canister. You could even wheel the design and put the different bands around the container.

I used them at Christmas for wrapping up small gifts. I covered them with some left over silver Christmas wrap I had and then attached a bow on top and did a cute gift tag to match. They turned out cute, but I didn't think to take a picture.

I have also started saving the little inside cups to use in my craft room for mixing things. They are so easy to pitch when you are done.

I'm not sure if they're the same diameter as Pringles cans, but if they are pretty close, they would make great containers to send homemade cookies to our deployed troops. The cookies stack nicely, stay fresh, and don't really have a chance to get smashed up & broken before they get to their destination. I used to use Pringles cans to send goodies to my son & his buddies when they were deployed.

Now I'm just thinking I used to send powdered Gatorade, etc for him too, so actually a brand new, full Crytsal Lite container would serve the same purpose & also provide a nice sand-free place for the guys to store their toothbrushes & tooth paste or even letters from home, when all the Crystal Lite was gone.

Stay Strong on the WW. My husband and I have been following WW since November 2005. We have lost the equivalent of a small child together (25 and 45 pounds). It is a way of life now. AND, you get the bennies of Crystal Light containers to use for STAMPING.

I buy my "generic" crystal light @ walmart. The containers have "6" tubs in them. So this would be a little taller than the "small" crystal light container. Thanks for the Ideas. I'll grab them out of the recycle bin.

I'm sooo tired. I'm going to run, duck, and cover right after this last remark....recycle the plastic you have and drink water from the tap, filteered if you must. Saves resources and is the "Thinking Green" thing to do. Just not as fun. Oh, go ahead and make something fun and then show us. Maybe I'll even get some all in the name of stamping!

Nitey-nite and sweet dreams of rubber stamping adventures!
