crimping - another question
I browsed several other crimping threads and didn't find my answer, so...
How do you add adhesive after the paper is crimped? I did this the other day - I'm a little behind on my crimper purchase. Didn't think I wanted or needed one until very recently! - and when I used my mono on the back it (I was careful) it streched the paper out some. I eneded up having to trim my paper to fit where I wanted it. Should I use adhesive first? That would gunk up the crimper. Why do I feel so dopey about this? Thanks for any help!! |
Use your Mono after crimping. Are you going with the ridges or across the ridges? I have not had problems with stretching, I go with the ridges. Hope that is clear.

I use glue dots to adhere a crimped piece of paper. I have used mono in the past, but it does flatten it a little, even if you apply it lightly. Then it ends up not sticking very well. You could also use stampin' dimensionals.

glue dots, glue dots, glue dots! I use them on everything. They are wonderful for crimped stuff.

one thing you can do if you have a Zyron is run the piece thru the xyron first and then put it thru the crimper, peel away the backing and viola...

ok I can spell - Xyron - not Zyron

I use a clear gel adhesive for just about everything, so I don't have that problem, but you could also apply the mono to the flat CS where the crimped piece will be placed.

I usually use mono-adhesive or glue dots after crimping, but also remember that our two-way glue applied wet can dry and be tacky like Post It Notes.

Thanks to everyone's suggestions.
My favorite DUH moment is Happy Heart's suggestion about applying mono to the flat card stock and THEN putting the crimped piece down. Gee, what a concept. Wonder why I couldn't think of that?! I also have glue dots and almost never use them. Sometimes I really wonder where my head is...somethings right in front of me and I can't see it!! Thanks again to everyone! |
