Default Question about holidays

I'm not sure that this is the right place to ask this, so I'll apologise now! I ordered some goods from a popular US site on 2nd December, they were shipped on 9th December but I still haven't recieved them. It has never taken so long for a parcel to reach me in the UK. I e-mailed the site regarding this 2 days ago, but haven't heard anything back yet.
So my question is - how long do US shops/businesses remain closed over the Christmas/New Year period? I can't find this info on the website but don't want to bombard their inbox if they are still on holiday!
Thanks for any help, Claire

It just depends. Some go back to work on the 2nd, others will continue to take the time off till the 7th. But honestly, I think a business would at least check their emails unless it's a one person business and they are away on a vacation. I'd go ahead and email them again if it were me. Hopefully they can track it. But it could be the holidays is what slowed your package with the post office having so much extra to deal with right before Christmas.

I have an idea! I'll find your package for you and personally deliver it to you! I love England (except for those cars going the wrong way! )

That would be great Debbie! As long as you bring me lots of things from the new catty as well. Not that I'm greedy, you understand, just very jealous. Thanks for your reply, I think I'll e-mail them again tomorrow

I noticed that during December it was taking as much as 3 weeks to ship to Canada, so I would imagine The UK may take as long.
